Does anyone have Bonsai Boy of New York as their merchant? If so, how does it perform for you?

Check this out... For example one of their product pages (any products page) http://www.bonsaiboy.com/catalog/product252.html

They have their 800 number all over the place, and the ADD TO CART is almost not visible. What the ....!?!? Is this merchant fraud or what!?

We have BB of NY on one of sites. Here are the stats for the year:

    Imps: 3857 Hits: 521 Sales $0.00

Answer's pretty clear. Thanks for pointing the 1-800 out. those links are coming down

    Hits: 28 , Sales: 1

They're total filler, I've never promoted them, it always suprises me when one of those makes a sale.

I'd wager that 95.678% of surfers NEVER see that phone number. I had to look for it and surfers are notoriously bad about looking for ANYTHING.

What is the attraction of Bonsai Boy? Is bonsai hot nowadays or something?

    They're Cool!

    Hits 5,558
    Sales 141

    CR 2.5%
(These figures are for this year.)

    Nothing fraudulant about it...

    Targeted traffic converts!

Of course, it'll take a sales pitch to unlock the potential. "Filler" or "pointing the way" promotions won't work. You need to SELL and drive over their front page design! As for the 800#, I'm getting a good CR anyway so I don't worry about it.

And remember that there is a time during the winter that they DO NOT SHIP due to the cold. Don't expect much during that time. There's a few pre-orders in the winter, but except for the holiday buying rush, Bonsai Boy is pretty much dormant in the really cold months.

Jimbo--I did read that bonsais are indeed "in" sometime last spring. By the amount of Christmas buying, I'd say they're still in!

A jewel nestled amongst a bunch of thorns...since most CJ merchants are not ready for primetime. Even though this guy's site sucks for design.. he's honest and closes traffic.. Now pressure him to get rid of the prominent 800# and they're good to go.

The successful affiliate for this category need plenty of pre-sell text and showcase some of his individual trees. The books -bonsai tools and replica trees also sell well during the winter months.
