Oh please... so I just joined this BeFree merchant -- haven't started promoting them, haven't created the first link.

But when I do a "quick stats" -- there they are with over 100 impressions... what the?...

Oh great, BeFree is logging, as impressions, MY views of the materials to create links for these folks.

It's not a big deal, in the scheme of things it doesn't matter, but sloppy sloppy sloppy.

How about this,

I was getting CJ hits for programs I have never joined.

Too bad they never made any sales.

I think it must have been an affiliate with the wrong code.

Not unusual to find traffic stas at BF and LS where merchants show 50-60% click ratios on days when the networks seem to pad the figures. Imagine 340 impressions bringing 294 hits then 624 impressions getting only 12 hits the next day!! Must be something there for justifying the network bills to the new merchants showing plenty of activity.

What about "spikes" at CJ?

By "spikes", I mean I get almost all my CJ links clicked on in just a couple of hours, which is not possible under normal circumstances (or under any circumstances).

I have experienced this "phenomenon" 2 or 3 times in the past few months. And thank goodness, these happened after "pay per click" was discontinued at CJ. If not, I'd have some explaining to do.

What's even weirder is that some of those links were actually on pages that no longer exist on my servers.

Cached pages at Search Engines clicked by a competitor? Maybe.

CJ's tracking to blame. Maybe.

Too bad, I don't get unexplained sales instead.

Cheers,

For what I understand, the "spikes" in CJ impression/hit are because of the delay in their impression/hit servers.

For example:
Day1: 5 hits (supposed to be 105 hits)
Day2: 5 hits (supposed to be 105 hits)
Day3: 5 hits (supposed to be 105 hits)
Day4: 405 hits (105 hits + 3 * 100 from the prev days)
* this is just an example *

Just my suspicion....

Well, it happened again. 14 approvals from CJ merchants and I only applied to 3 of them. Upon initial research I found that most were new merchants.

I just joined Befree and their tools aren't a patch on CJ's. Only reason I joined was because the PETsMART affiliate program uses them.

Well, sometimes, I find that the Actual Program name is not the same as the ones that I sign up for. In reality, it is the same program though when I signed up for it, it said "FREE SOFTWARE" and not "Millard Fillmore Software". You know what I mean?
