Decently large facebook following, but Blog is lacking
I have a pretty engaged active facebook member base.

On the other hand my blog is pretty dead.

Should I put in more effort towards my blog?

Or try and grow my page?

You must first put more effort on your blog first because you can't make any cash if your blog is pretty dead. Think as a visitor, and then imagine to visit your blog. Do you think visitors will comeback? I suggest you to fix your blog and post fresh contents. I am sure there are lots of returning visits.

Think about building a brand - your FB page should be the extension of a brand that is built on a platform that you own and control (blog)
I'd spend time on the blog and use the FB to bring people back to it when you have something to say... same goes for any social media tools.

I would like to echo the others in the importance of spending time on your blog. It builds credibility and is a more reliable source of traffic

Of course, it is not something you should ask about because if you use your blog for marketing purposes then it is automatically necessary.
You know that blog and social media works well together? Yes, it is true.
Have about do both, work more effort on your blog while trying to grow your page, besides facebook page isn't that hard to optimize.
I'm sure you'll be able to manage your time.

Not only that, but Facebook is a free third party platform.. they can change the rules on you at any time and make it more challenging, more expensive or impossible to market affiliate offers to your audience. You should build your blog that you have complete control over, and build your opt-in email list and use social media in support of these.

Of course, You should add some new and fresh content in your blog. If you regularly update your blog time to time then you'll generate more traffic. On the other hand, social media like Facebook is one among the top online platform today.

Your blog is the most important aspect of what you're doing, correct? It's the backbone. Without that, you won't have anything. Is suggest working on your blog to give your people a reason to stay or they might get bored. Good luck

Facebook can be great source when you want to creating new customer. But if you want higher ranking blog is always better. If your blog is lacking I suggest that you should improve it becuase facebook page couldn't replace your blog's importance.

You should put your efforts on both.
Facebook is a place from where you can drive lots of users to your site.
If you have a engaged and active Facebook member base then also do focus on posting helpful and quality content on your site and then do share those content with your members on Facebook to get benefited with them.

Focus on writing evergreen blog posts and pillar posts. These are the best investments long-term.
Remember: Facebook could change the rules tomorrow and wipe out your following overnight.

You must write informative and attractive blog post and share the link with your facebook fan page.
you should share a short paragraph of your blogpost with your page members and leave the blog link for reading rest story.
This trick helps too much with news papers.
    You can try too
