    Hi all!

Will someone check my site http://www.RapMusicPosters.com ?

For some reason the Amazon links on the home page don't seem to be working anymore. ???

Also, if you go to another page on my site and click to amazon... like from a CD link, You can see the "rapMusicPoste..." affiliate code in the URL. However, when you go to any other page on Amazon you don't see the same code anymore. Is Amazon still tracking that the visitor came from our site?

We just want to make sure we are doing it right. We have had 8 poster sales so far. We have had about 300 unique visitors to amazon.... but no sales. Unusual?

    Thanks for your help!

For your first question, it looks like you have too much stuff in you link. Your link: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...rs/-/music/38/

    should look like this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/re...tg/browse/-/38

That will fix the link not working on the front page.

    For your second question:

After the first click through, Amazon.com first writes a 24 cookie to the visitor with your affiliate code in it. I believe they also encode your affiliate code into the number tacked onto the end of the url, *but I could be wrong here*. So even though your id disappears after the first click, you still get credit for any sales on that visit, or if they return directly to Amazon.com (not through another affiliate link) within 24 hours and makes a purchase.

*As for the 300 uniques with no sales that does seem a bit unusual. So far this quarter I'm making a sale every 50 visitors. Reading the Amazon.com Associates board, it seems that most people are making at least 1 sale for every 100 visitors. Next time I make a purchase from Amazon.com I'll use your link, kind of like a secret shopper and let you know so you can verify it gets credited.*

    Hi, Brian!

Thank you so much for your help. I really, really appreciate it.

I especially appreciate the offer to "mystery shop" through our link as a test.

    You are very kind.

    Thank you again,

You might want to go to the Amazon-Affiliates discussion list at YahooGroups and pose this, or any other, Amazon related questions. It is independent from Amazon.
