Hi. If anyone uses amazon maybe you can help me figure this out. When I go to individual links I'll get the links that will take me to this page:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...398715-1260803

But what I want to get to is the next page:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/AS...398715-1260803

where the reviews are. Is it okay to stick in the ref-ase+centerforselfawa/ into the code to get there??

Interestingly enough that 2nd page is where the build a link pages go to that have the banners. But those banner pages don't have any text links so I'm in the same boat (plus they start with .rcm so I'm not sure if I should use those for text links anyway.

Also, I assume I don't need to add this:
    002-6398715-1260803
on the code. Is that right? I thought it's the ASIN numb that counts and the affil id.

    Thanks.

    Hi reflections,

You need to insert ref=nosim before your Amazon id name. This will direct the link directly to the Amazon page you want and avoid the similar pages.

This link takes to similar pages:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/156554666 0/microwcookinforo

This link takes you directly to an idividual product:
    http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN /1565546660/ref=nosim/microwcookinforo

    Hi Tracy,

Thanks. Can you explain further how that works- if my id was luvcooking
is there a space after nosim? Or is there a slash? I'm just not sure where to put it.
    Thanks.

    Tracy,

I think I do get it now. You do
    ASIN/THENUMBER/ref=nosim/AFFILID

will it definitely give you credit for sale?
    I assume I shouldn't use ref=ase
    even though that works too.

    Thanks.

When you create the code at Amazon, it looks like .../obidos/ASIN/1565546660/YOURUSERNAME

Go to the spot where you see the slash before your username and insert /ref=nosim.

Afterwards, it will look like this

    .../obidos/ASIN/1565546660/ref=nosim/YOURUSERNAME

    Hi again, Reflections,

Yes, it will definitely give you credit for the sale. I have an include page on all my pages. What I mean is I created one page with the link to the cover of my mother's book with the Amazon link. I include that page on every page of my site. So, I only have the one link. I steadily sell the book for the direct link and 15% commission. I know linking this way works. I wouldn't fool with anything, or you might mess up your tracking.

When Amazon went to the similar pages idea, affiliates complained that they wanted the links to go directly to the pages. So Amazon created the ref=nosim to make those affiliates happy.
