How to legally use affiliate's pictures

I am very new to affiliate marketing. I have put an affiliate link from click-bank for a product, but there is only a text link right now, no picture.
I want to use a picture that is used to advertise on te products official website, but I was never outright given permission to use the image. I see other affiliates using the picture and although I am sure it would be fine, I do not want to get in a legal situation.
What is the plan of attack for using the picture? Can I automatically use it since I am an affiliate of the product?

Yes. CB doesn't feel the need to provide any actual creative, only one basic tracking link that you can use to create whatever text or graphic links you want.
Real affiliate networks with actual merchant programs also generally allow you to use merchant site graphics unless they specify otherwise in their individual terms of service.
