Certainly agree with the post in regards to the relevancy matter along with trust , link quality and inbound links but one thing that I am confused about is the nofollow vs dofollow ratio. Is there any sort of ratio one needs to maintain when it comes to NF or DF?

I'm not an expert, but he does emphasize follow vs don't follow links. Didn't really say anything about the ratio. Google always maintains that the first priority in a link should be the reader's experience - so if the link leads to a good experience, that's the top priority, even if that means it's a no-follow link that doesn't lead to a paid opportunity for the affiliate.
