    Hello,

I'm new here and read your postings with a lot of interest.

Being a german software developer I want to sell a content management tool and think about using affiliate programs like shareasale etc.

But at the moment I only have one(!) single product to sell. Maybe there are one or two other products during 2003.

Does it make any sense to start e.g. with shareasale with one single product?

What would you recommend? Thank you for your answers.

    Ferdinand,

Without knowing more about where you are in your marketing plan, it's hard even begin.

At first glace, it looks like you have the cart before the horse. How do you know your product will sell? Have you done the market research?

Next step: Do you have a website set up and selling it successfully? I would do that before looking at affiliate programs that would only refer visitors to your website. Affiliates pre-sell for you, it's up to you to do the selling.

Just consider the economic feasibility of the setup cost ($150 I think?)

That is only a one-time fee, and from there on you only pay a percentage for each sale.

If you think it would be worth your while to place $150 worth of display ads in a printed publication, it would be even more worthwhile to go ahead and set yourself up at shareasale. This would give you continuous exposure, whereas an in-print ad's exposure would be a one-shot deal.

Shareasale or Clickbank would both be worth looking into for 1 product affiliate program.
