    What a deal!

It costs $200 to join minus 15% on net sales - 4-6% transaction fees!

Seriously now - these folks sure aren't very affiliate friendly at the moment!

"There is a one time $200 fee to cover our set-up cost, server side scripting, banner creation, accounting, etc. This is deducted form initial sales generated by your link(s) before the first payment is made to you."

"Payment is 15% (fifteen percent) of the net receipts (generally, sales price less transaction costs and returns)."

Here's one of there sites: http://www.popuphitman.com/info/affiliates.php

I sent them an email about it, here's what they had to say:

    Hi Paul,

Thanks for your interest in our product. We have found the affiliate program to work for us the way it is.

We will waive the set up fee, and our calculations stay the same. 15% on net sales. Transaction costs tend to be about 4-6%.

If you are agreeable to that, let me know.

    Thank you,

    My initial email to them:

I'm interested in your affiliate program, but since I've been involved in the affiliate industry for a number of years - this is the first time I've ever seen a merchant charge someone to join their affiliate program. If you would consider waiving the setup fee and paying 15% on the actual sale price of the item, then I'd like to be an affiliate of yours.

Thank you for your consideration and I look forward to hearing from you.

    Best Regards,

    Paul
