Man this disgusts me, Why can't those affiliate managers who give this actually review the site closely, and see how well there programs would be advertised in search engines. My sites are in the top 10 google listings for specific keywords. Does anyone have any idea on how to let merchants know this? in cj, reporting.net, linkshare, etc?

It is to my opinion frustrated when you have been doing this for over 6 years and some merchants who have not been doing this that long reject someone who has the experience to get some sales for them. Whats everyone's thoughts on this?

    Jasonco,

Just follow-up with an e-mail detailing where and what your strategies will be. Also put this stuff in your affiliate site description.

Affiliate managers are flooded with dubious applications, it is possible to fall between the cracks. A quick follow-up email detailing what you do will often clear it up.

Yeah I just got this note back from CJ in response to a request for a data feed:

    beg snip >>>>>>
Publishers within our network must meet certain criteria for Commission Junction to be able to offer them access to the data feed subcriptions. Some of our criteria for consideration involve the length of time within the network, a Network Earnings level of at least 2 bars and consecutive commission payouts for the previous 4 months.

Your business is very important to us. Please feel free to contact us at a later time to have your request reviewed.
    end snip >>>>>>

Now granted I haven't been doing this for too long but I have a fair bit of experiencing doing SEO and run a site that is #1 in Google. I got the Linkshare feeds without any sweat.

What gives? Surely it is in CJ's merchants interests to provide access to their feeds?

Many advertisers are new to affiliate marketing.
They are not well trained to select good partners.

Therefore we have to draft a email letter to convince them. A bit tired-some work to do. It is now easier with their direct contact emails.

    DrM,

Remember that many merchants are "Brand sensitive" and most have gotten burned in the past. Often just letting them know your basic tactics will go far in improving relationships. Meaning don't be afraid to communicate.

Thanks Wayne. Yeah I've tried sending some emails with some of my URLs and an explanation of what I want to do but I'm conversing with a nameless, faceless CJ support email. Is there any way to get a more subjective contact. I have seen mention of "Tod" in connection with CJ? Is he the affiliate manager?
