Just wanted to let everyone know that if you
are using Advanced Linking URL's for iMaternity, they are now All going to iMaternity's homepage.

I had added several Adv. Links to my website,
was getting hundreds of click thrus and No
sales, so I used Ask a Question -- this is
    my answer:

    -----
"It looks like there is a problem, stemming from the fact that the links for iMaternity have "URL Redirection" enabled, which allows you to select which page you'd like the links to lead to.

iMaternity should not be letting Publishers modify destination URL's, as they require some parameters to pass to their system in order to track.

I've since disabled this setting from their account, so your links should now track perfectly, although won't lead to the pages you've pointed them to, but instead to the default destination URL that the Advertiser applied to this link.

I'm in the process of working with the Advertiser to see if we can get this option enabled via some scripting which needs to occur on their end.

Sorry for all of the confusion."
    ------------

I wrote them back and told them that there Is
Also a Problem with the Regular Links as well--
since my Sales from click thrus of Reg. Links
have fallen to barely Nothing (I usually get
    2-3 transactions a day).

Anyone else showing a Slow Down with iMaternity?

BTW, before spending hours adding the advanced
links 2 1/2 weeks ago, I did a test purchase
clicking through an Advanced Link -- this
transaction Tracked Just Fine. I have no
idea what iMaternity Did to turn them off --
    Arghhh.

    gettnthar,
I have also seen a slowdown in Imaternity, but better than that, read my two posts in this thread.
    Rant about Imaternity

Imaternity has some serious problems in how they run their affiliate program. I wouldn’t recommend you spend a lot of time setting up links to them.

    Just my opinion.

As a final thought, if you happen to read my other two posts in the thread mentioned above. I have still not received a response from them.

I too usually have quite a few sales for them, but this month sales quit on 02/02 which is really strange.

    Unfortunately, there really isn't another
Maternity Advertiser that offers as much as
    iMaternity.

I could replace the iMaternity links with Amazon / Maternity Apparel links, but they
don't convert well (the apparel links) at
    all.

Obviously if Connie is not getting normal sales
there is Definitely a Tracking problem!

Connie, if you send CJ an "ask a question"
email about iMaternity, I bet they'll do
    something about it Fast!

Gee, never seen "CJ" and the word "Fast" in the same sentence before!

I did send off an "ask a question" and hopefully will get an answer.

    AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!

I've been using those advanced linking links for years now and getting plenty of orders. I rely on sending my traffic to the right page.....

    This is not right.

I've just sent Another email to
CJ's "ask a question" as follows:

    quote:
I have another question for you --

If iMaternity "should not be letting Publishers modify destination URL's, as they require some parameters to pass to their system in order to track" as you stated,

Why, for over a year now, had my iMaternity Advanced Linking URL's
Tracked Fine -- In fact as I stated in my first email -- I made a "test" purchase on 2/2/03 using an Advanced Link & it Tracked Fine.

Now for some reason iMaternity doesn't have the "parameters to
pass on their system" to track the redirected URLs -- That
does not make sense Unless iMaternity has Removed the "paramaters"

And, even if I seem like a broken record -- They are Not
tracking sales properly thru any means, so your statement --

"I've since disabled this setting from their account, so your links should now track perfectly," is Not correct.

Also, by disabling this setting, you have rendered Many websites
incorrect in what their text links are pointing to, Not just mine.
Again, these are iMaternity Adv. text links that tracked just fine 12 days ago.

Hopefully, with Connie's "ask a question"
and other Publishers bugging CJ -- they won't
    drop the investigation into iMaternity's
    tracking problem.

Obviously iMaternity has done some site
updating and messed up their tracking. I
remember when they added the "Maternity Mall"
their tracking went down for several weeks.

This is awful. They were doing really well for me too. I had redirects to all sorts of products from all of their sites. I wish they would take us more seriously. They never seemed to pay much attention to us, but as long as things worked I didn't complain. Now it's a different story.

    Thank God for this threat!

My sales also ABRUPTLY *stopped* since February 9th. I do not use advanced links, so the links are still going where I want them to go.

I average 3 sales a day, so it means I already lost 30 sales in last 10 days. It also means that THERE IS OBVIOUSLY SOMETHING WRONG with the iMaternity tracking.

    Arrrgghhh!

Please send an "ask a question" email and
let support know that your sales stopped or
    dropped drastically.

Because iMaternity is booking sales (from
who is the question) daily, CJ compliance is
not taking this seriously enough (for me
    anyway).

Yet, their EPC is finally reflecting a drop in
    sales.

Something very weird is going on with them.
Take a look at their link EPC's -- One of
their Pea in the Pod images/links has an
EPC of $44.37; a Mimi Maternity link has
an EPC of $32.14. Yet their regular
iMaternity text links have dropped drastically.

If I get any type of additional response
    from support, I'll post it.

    Hey Anne,

I got a sale today, so it's getting back to normal, I hope.

Link EPCs are not very reliable actually. Example:

I wanted give a text link "Mimi Maternity" but there is not text link avaliable to that store, only a 120x60 image link. So I got the tracking link from that image and used it as text link. And, that's the best converting link of all from MaternityMall.

The only response I have from cj so far is:
    quote:
I'll have someone in integration check through this.

Hopefully (keeping fingers crossed) they will find something.

I did a test purchase yesterday and it
    tracked okay.

It seems that they are tracking on and
off. One day tons of traffic no sales,
another day same traffic 1 or 2 sales.
Back and forth -- Until yesterday.

Before the beginning of this month, they
were Very consistent in sales. My EPC
with them has dropped 66% from last month to this month!

I had 5 sales with them yesterday (1 of them
me), so hopefully they are back on track.

Yet, I'm like SamBay -- I want compensation
for the time they Were Not tracking correctly.
I'm not holding my breath though.

*Phew, finally got it fixed !!! Here are the details:

We found that iMaternity was allowing "URL Redirection" on their links, and shouldn't be. All links that were being sent to specific products were probably not being tracked in the past, seeing as the iMaternity system requires some specific scripts to be hit on their end in order to trigger their system to identify the referred user as a "CJ Publisher referred user".

So, with the above said, our Network Quality team disabled the "URL Redirection" functionality for all links.
This way, even though the links weren't leading to the customized URL (which was quite an issue in itself !), the links were leading to the required script on iMaternity so that tracking would take place.
In a nutshell, we needed to make this change so that you would get credit for every referred user, regardless of the link possibly leading to the wrong page.

There was a solution to the problem, which required some coding on iMaternity's end.
I finally got ahold of the necessary technical contact and I explained what needed to happen.
iMaternity's technical contact actually made the necessary changes and put the code into production while I was on the phone with him, which is quite rare if you deal with large companies tech teams on a daily basis.
These types of changes usually have to go through a "product pipeline", which is always a hassle.
As of this post, the fix should be complete on all of their domains in less than 20 minutes.

So, I've confirmed that all the links in the iMaternity account are tracking fine (they always have been), and that they now are setup to allow "URL Redirection".
So, your customized links which lead to specific products will track just fine.
(Also confirmed that their Cookie Duration value is correct)

Let me know if you have any questions !
Sorry for the long post, but I get excitied when something get's fixed

I got a similar response from cj this morning:

    quote:
I just worked directly with MothersWork and we got this problem resolved.
They are now allowing redirection which will actually track.

Previous to this fix, any links being customized to link to a specific page weren't being tracked... which is why we disabled the redirection functionality.

Now, all should be fixed !
Sorry for all of the confusion, and let me know if you have any questions !
    Thanks !

I guess it is just tough luck that we lost all sales from prior customized links?!?

It's nice to know that Advance Linking has
    been re-instated. But ...

    quote:
We found that iMaternity was allowing "URL Redirection" on their links, and shouldn't be. All links that were being sent to specific products were probably not being tracked in the past, seeing as the iMaternity system requires some specific scripts to be hit on their end in order to trigger their system to identify the referred user as a "CJ Publisher referred user".

iMaternity's Advanced Linking Tracked Just fine
until the Beginning of February -- So saying
they were not (tracking) is Incorrect.

Why did they Stop Tracking? Did iMaternity do
some kind of update & delete the specific
scripts to be hit on their end in order to
trigger their system to identify the referred
user as a "CJ Publisher referred user".

And, will we be compensated for the lost sales?

    Anne,
I think you can kiss any lost sales goodbye.

Every one of the previous postings in this thread on Imaternity only strengthens my view of the company.
They are a VERY poorly run company that doesn’t give a damn about their affiliates.

For those of you who have been keeping up with this thread, you all know my position on Imaternity. If any of you were wondering if I have received word from them yet; NO, I have not heard a thing. The CJ rep (as of today) sent me an email saying he is still working on getting some kind of help from them.

I would love to see if anyone else could get a direct response from Imaternity. Try sending them an email via CJ email or regular email and see if you get a reply; I bet you don’t here a thing from them.

I haven't been able to get a response from imaternity through cj mail or regular email either. CJ mentioned they have a formula for compensating us when merchants do things like this, but since imaternity's regular links were working they can't use it. There suggestion... email the merchant and work something out. I won't hold my breath.

Just an FYI, I've sent iMaternity an email discussing the issues you've all brought up in regard to the past tracking issues.

I sent an email to all of the users on their account letting them know that they will be receiving emails from Publishers in regard to compensation for lost traffic.

Best of all, I sent them all links to the threads here on ABW so they can sign up and hopefully get this all worked out !

I'm hoping they see the light and start a forum of their own

The following is the last email from
    Dylan -- CJ Support regarding
    iMaternity Not Tracking...

    quote:
    Hello Anne !

    Finally got everything resolved !
All redirected links should be going to the proper pages and tracking fine now.

The Advertiser will be able to compensate you based on your performance. Send them an email and I'll inform the Advertiser that they need to contact you.

Definitely let me know if you have any questions !
    Thanks !

After several years of sending a few emails to
iMaternity and Never getting a response, I
didn't send them an email regarding this matter.
One thing, it would be difficult to calculate
the lost transactions since some of our
    regular links tracked.

CJ should take the responsiblity of seeing
we are compensated in some way since this was
across the board Non-tracking issue on all
    redirected url's.

    dupplate & Anne,

At least it’s nice to see I’m not the only one NOT getting a response from Imaternity.
In my case it’s now been close to two months and at least 6 emails and still no response.
The CJ rep is still telling me he’s researching the issues of tracking and not responding to emails.
Maybe if we all keep pushing CJ they’ll really get after Imaternity for compensating lost sales and for not responding to affiliates emails

Now we will never see the lost commissions
Now Mothers Work has far bigger problems. Tell Illinois to get in line behind their affiliates.
