A few years ago I had a crappy freebies site and was approved to join affiliate programs through Commission Junction.

I just filled out a form and it said my application was rejected.

Have their standards changed that much? I think my site now looks much better than my old site.

ROLMAO ....Zeus & Happypoon are onto the secret for getting the red carpet network approvals. Ever wonder how a cloned newbee "incent" BHO gets 600 merchant approvals before they are even listed in the SE's???

Don't do it--they're just being sarcastic! (The barbs are aimed at the networks, not you.)

Basically what is being referred to is software that 1) overwrites affiliate codes, usually as a "Browser Helper Object", and 2) is auto-installed on unsuspecting users who happen to land on a site with the install code on it (a "driveby download").

Check out the Parasiteware Forum for more details.

    BTW, welcome to ABW!

As for getting approved, the first thing I'd suggest is trying your old email and password. If they haven't kicked it as an inactive account yet (they only started doing that recently so it may still be in there), it should let you right in. If the old one still works, just edit your site info once you're in.

As for their standards changing, beauty's still in the eye of the beholder so it shouldn't be the *looks* of the site that's interfering...

If all else fails, try asking Todd from CJ for help. After all, you can't use "ask a question" (what he would normally advise) if you can't get *in*...

Try opening a new account. When you say turned down are you meaning a merchant or CJ?

I'm signing up as a publisher...is that right? I just want to join some affiliate programs and advertise them on my site.

    Am I doing that right?
