Before reading this, please realize that I am venting while writing this. With that said, I have in no way mistated any of the facts. So here's the latest...

So I'm just starting to recover from the episode I had last week with Cutter & Buck deactivating without any notice from Performics.

Then, today I receive feedback from a visitor to my site that many of my product level links are broken. When I check out the problem, I realize that all of the links to T Shipley default to a page that says their site is out of service until September 20th!!!! Then, I log into Connectcommerce and notice that T Shipley is COMPLETELY missing from the site. They are not in the "deactivated", "available" or "active" list of advertisers. FURTHERMORE, I NEVER received any communication that they were shutting down their affiliate program!

This is a whole new level of poor customer service from Performics.

I sent them another email, but am sure that I won't hear back from them for several weeks or months. In the meantime, I have no choice but to replace their links with links from CJ and Linkshare. Too bad they just don't care...

Hi,
I certainly understand your frustration. I have gotten links 4 or 5 times for Kitchen etc. I checked them all and re-checked them again. Then...the next day or day after that, the links are all screwed up. I've written to them 3 times. I guess I was lucky, I did get a response. However, the problem still remains. I told them that I will not even attempt to get any more links (let alone upload them to my sites) until they can figure out what is wrong. It sure makes me wonder what kind of operation they are running!

I certainly understand your frustrations but I'm pretty sure I remember getting a notification from them a while back on the program terminating their relationsihp.

I do know I had their links up and then pulled them.

Is it possible you missed the notification? Who else did or did not have this as an issue?

happypoon,

Thanks for sharing that tidbit with me. I'd be much happier if I thought it was an email problem.

However, if that's the case, then that is the second notice that I missed in one two weeks. And I checked all of my settings at Performics to make sure that I receive email from them (they were all opted in for email). Furthermore, I received an ad from them today for AOL (which I'm not even signed up for), so I know that I receive other email from them. Also, I've never had this problem with other affiliate programs.

Anyway, thanks for the info, it makes me feel a little better.

We were notified of T. Shipley. I even posted a message in these forums to let everyone know just in case you had not read e-mail.

There has been another one recently too. Cannot remember who, but I posted that in the Performics forum I think.

@Pat -- The links with Kitchen etc.. seem to be a kitchenetc.com problem. I think their programmers don't understand that if you switch the category_code number every week it will make for inaccurate linking for affiliates.

The links I have that always go to where they are supposed to go use search results. Do a search at KitchenEtc.com, cut and paste the URL into the link maker, and pray for the best . The links I've made that way don't go sour, but all links I've made to specific pages with a cat id have once again lowered my conversion rate down towards the .7% this month.

Now my rant: Gevalia coffee. Still showing email addys of the folks who signed up for their continuity program (for which I don't get paid anything, thank you for tracking it so well, though!). I did write to Perf, and I did get a response that they were working with the merchant to correct this. I wonder if Gevalia is just giving us the email addies as a consolation prize for selling since they don't pay us for the continuity program.

Beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent email left on the planet.
