    Hi, David:

I can't seem to come up with the right script to get a list of top selling items within SUBgenres of whatever (say, Action & Adventure DVDs, or travel books) embedded in a page. Could you provide the right combination?

    Thanks,
    Tom

I think I figured it out, David -- you do have something on this in your FAQ. So to get top sellers in DVD Action & Adventure I'm using:

    &lt;script SRC=http://domain.com/cgi-bin/amazon.pl?type=bestsellers&mode=163296&script&sort=+salesrank></SCRIPT>

Problem is, the results are slightly different from those Amazon itself shows as Action & Adventure top sellers.

    Any idea why?

Thanks again for your patience and help,
    Tom

The URL you stated above is the correct URL to use.

Amazon.com Web Services (AWS) does not return the exact same results as the amazon.com website. I would assume that the website is using some additional factors in its sort calculation (e.g.: inventory count, profit margin, etc.) that AWS is not using, or vice versa. Hopefully Amazon.com Inc. will make the two sources consistent in the future.
