    I'd like to include a simple (non-templated) grid of items on some pages via a php include using the new amazon.pl XML script version.

    Unfortunately, when use "script=1" then I get the document-write text, and when I put "script=0" then I get the whole template shebang.

    Is there a way to get a simple grid without using javascript?

    use amazon.pl?ssi&mode=NUMBER&grid=gridspecs
    Just call the ssi in your php include.

    Thanks cape cod. The general format is to use: amazon.pl?ssi&...

    That is, you can use the ssi parameter in any amazon.pl request. When you use the ssi parameter, amazon.pl returns only the value of {results} and nothing else.

    Hmm... okay, this mostly works, but I still get a "View Shopping Cart" link in the upper right hand corner, and I would rather not have that in this context (see http://blog.smilezone.com/archives/000376.htm)

    To turn off automatic displaying of the "View shopping cart" link, edit amazon.ini and set: viewcart no

    This setting will turn off displaying of the link everywhere. Then to have it displayed on your results pages, edit your results template file(s) and add the following formatting code before the {results} code:

    {format.viewcart}

    Note: Formatting codes use curly brackets (beside letter P on keyboard). They can also be stated as an HTML comment such as <!--format.viewcart-->

    I definitely appreciate the fast and helpful replies!

    One minor nitpick, though. Your script seems a bit inconsistent with how it handles amazon.ini defaults. For instance, I also have "addto.buy" as YES, but THAT didn't affect the ssi display ;-). And interestingly enough, I wouldn't mind having a small button on my grid for this
