I notice in the instructions that if you rename amazon.pl to something else, you also need to rename the key file to correspond.

    I have two questions.

First, is there any advantage to renaming amazon.pl?

And, I was playing around with my installation and noticed that if I rename amazon.pl, the templates don't seem to work. To rename the pl and still have everything work, what other changes need to be made?

    Thanks

Some webmasters want to rename the .pl script file to something else such as shop.pl since that is what shows up in the URL. So we support renaming. By renaming the .pl file, the word "amazon" would no longer appear in the URL -- I don't know if that is an advantage.

When the .pl file is run, it looks at its own filename to figure out what the "base" name is for all related files and directories. When the amazon.pl file is renamed, to say shop.pl then all other "amazon*" filenames and directories must be renamed to match. This includes the files amazon.ini, amazon.key, and also the directories amazon-cache, amazon-template, amazon-format, etc.
