    Like the new script, like the customization, like the documentation. Made more sense to me right off and actually cleared up a couple of misconceptions.

    That said, I think I may have a problem with using the virtual function in PHP to include the ae.pl results.

    It gives the results, but there seem to be some code fragments from the result showing up in the webpage. You can see it here:

    The Page

    Below is the code fragment:

    <?
    $filename = "/cgi-bin/ae/ae.pl?script&browsenodesearch=172484&mode=electronics&grid=c:3,r:3,p:green,at,if";

    // $curDir = getcwd();
    virtual ( $filename );
    // chdir( $curDir );
    ?>

    Have tried it with the $curdir and chdir uncommented as well with the same results (had to use those for another PHP file or it wouldn't return to the right location...thought that might be happening here but apparently not).

    Any ideas would be welcome. Thank you!

    In the URL in $filename, change "script" to "ssi" as shown below. The virtual() function of PHP is effectively equivalent to an SSI include statement. See Run-Related Parameters.

    $filename = "/cgi-bin/ae/ae.pl?ssi&browsenodesearch=172484&mode=electronics&grid=c:3,r:3,p:green,at,if";

    Also, to get faster results, create an ae-cache directory and an ae-imgcache directory. Created these directories in the directory where the ae.pl file is located.

    BTW, you have a nice website. On the homepage, some of the HREF's in your "Latest Reviews" box need to be fixed; they currently are file:// URL's.

    That was it exactly. Feel kind of foolish, but in self defense I was up way past my bedtime *grin*.

    Thanks for pointing out those bad hrefs -- I am more of a technical consultant to the site (okay, my wife works for them and so technical slave might be more true ). Will let the guys who run it know.

    Thanks for your help!

    nice site rardentech!

    David, isn't the columns displayed supposed to be customizable?

    <pre class="ip-ubbcode-code-pre">
    browse.style 2 # 1=format browse index as a bullet list; 2=format as a plain list
    browse.width 2 # N=number of columns in browse index (N=1, 2, or 3)
    </pre>

    ...with this setting I'm still getting a 3 column result.

    Stanley,

    I just tested browse.style and browse.width on my website and it does work. So verify that your ae.ini configuration is being loaded. To do that, see Verify Loading of Configuration.
