When I try this: http://www.smilezone.com/cgi-bin/ae....yword=airplane
I notice that all the browse-type links correctly follow a directory structure (http://smilezone.com/amz...), since I added that tweak to my .htaccess file.
However, entering in a search in the search box results in a cgi-'ish URL.
Is there any way to make even a search into a virtual directory?

I do not know how to make a user-specified search appear as a virtual directory. It might be possible with a RewriteRule in the .htaccess file. I just experimented with the .htaccess file and could not come up with a RewriteRule to do that (I'm not an expert of RewriteRule). If someone can figure out what the appropriate RewriteRule would be, please post it here. The fact that the user can select the mode (from the drop-down menu) may complicate the matter.
Even though the search URL is a /cgi-bin link, note that the results on the search page are virtual directory links.
