    Hi All:

I'm brand new to this forum and have arrived here as a direct result of me investigating purchasing Associate Engine. I've spent a lot of time going through most of AE's FAQ and some of its install directions and have looked through this forum (may have missed some of it). I don't seem to find a search capability to search the forum. So, with that said I ask the questions here after trying to find if the questions have already been addressed.

    1. Can I use the scripts in Frontpage after creating a webpage? Guess I would just add the script in the html section of the page?

    2. License: Does this come with the purchase price of $99? Stupid question-- what is the license for? And, is there anything special I have to do with the license?

I have two amazon.com affiliate ids. Reading other posts here it appears if I purchase the Associate Engine for $99 that will include up to 10 keys for no additional charge.

Thanks up front for anyone willing to help me out here.

P.S. -- I currently use a service that builds my own Amazon affiliate storefront. I love it, it looks great and it's very easy (no script required) and it's dirt-cheap. But, lately their service has degraded -- important services do not work and the service is down more often (no one can shop my stores when that happens). I'm bummed because their concept is great and now I have to figure out how to run perl scripts. Looks like I don't have any choice though.

    Thanks,
    Bob

    Bob,

    1. You can use the Associate Engine script with webpages created by FrontPage. If you're using a Windows webserver, then see FAQ "Can I use Associate Engine on a Windows NT IIS server?".

    2. The $99.95 is to purchase a 1-year license to use Associate Engine. As with any software (such as Microsoft Word), you buy a license to use the software, you do not own the software itself. See the FAQ "Can I run Associate Engine on several websites?" for license information.

Download and install the free demo and try it out on your own webserver.

Thanks. So, does one have to pay a renewal charge of $99 each year to continue using the software?

    Thanks,
    Bob

No. Yearly renewal license is $24.95 (US funds). When your license expires, Associate Engine reverts back to demo mode. Expiry date is indicated in your ae.key file. When you renew your license, we email your new ae.key file containing a new expiry date.

Thanks for answering all my questions. Even with the renewal fee of $25 it is still less expensive than the other service I'm using. However, this software looks like it could be a royal pain in the butt for someone who has never dealt with scripts before.

    Thanks,
    Bob
