Has anyone had problems in AE with taking minutes to load details pages? I have just moved a site to a new host (much more reliable) and the site that was working perfectly well is now taking up to four minutes to load the details pages. If I change the default details page to a list format it loads quickly. I am running this script on another site on the same host and am not having any problems. I've got tech support working on it, looking at resource sharing issues that may exist, etc. on this server but was wondering if anyone else had encountered this problem.

FWIW, sometimes (1 out of 30) the page loads just fine. Also, the list pages load fine always.

Check to make sure that the cache is working. You should see files in the ae-cache and ae-imgcache directories. If they're empty after you access AE pages, then check that the write permissions of those directories are enabled.

Did that. Still broken. Thought it may be a disk space issue so I deleted about 400MB of files but still didn't help.

I'll go back through the install process for AE this evening and start from scratch.

    David,

Thanks for the offer. I had my host move this site to a dedicated server today and I'm not having this issue any longer. I wish I knew what it was but I'm glad it's not happening any longer.

BTW, I've told you this before but you have put together a great collection of software. Much appreciated.

Sounds like it was a lack of RAM. On a dedicated, it's not just more disk space you get--all the RAM are belong to you

I encountered problems with AE loading and David referred me to:

When I followed the recommendations things loaded in a flash.

    Hope this helps.
