    Question...

I have a HTML document (xxx.shtml) which uses a include virtual to call a .CGI search. This embeds HTML code into my document for viewing in the Browser.

My question is... Will the server execute any embedded PHP code segments within the original HTML document during this SSI pass?

unless you map it otherwise, php files need the php extension so apache knows to process them as php files.

    Thanks Chet,

I figured it did not, but I haven't been using SSI long. Better to ask.

However, I'm not sure what "unless you map it otherwise" actually means in practice and application. Are you referring to .HTACCESS entries?
