Here's the idea:

I designed a Flash banner that links to www.mysite.com/script.cgi?1. Is there a way to edit this banner with a Perl script so it would link to www.mysite.com/script.cgi?2 ? What I want is to create a script that would automatically generate the same banner just with a different "GetURL" action.

    Any hints?

you always ask the most evocative questions C4. I'm not exactly sure however what it is you're trying to do. Is this perhaps something that can be more easiliy accomplished with Flash actionscript instead of cgi?

I guess I always make you go "huh"

    The thing is:

I wrote an affiliate program in Perl and want it to support FLASH banners.

To do that I must somehow generate a flash banner from a ... emmm ... template ... for each affiliate individually - meaning one flash banner must have a different URL for each affiliate (since each affiliate has a unique ID number).

How can I get the script to automatically change the "GetURL" action in Flash banners for each individual affiliate?

I hope I was a little clearer this time ...

    Thanks

Oh and I saw some steps towards a Perl::Flash module, but nothing seems to be out (yet)...

Any ideas how can I make this work?

Yeah you do but they are interesting questions that get me thinking.

I don't see a Flash::Perl module listed on CPAN. I know there's alot being done in the way of PHP/Flash integration. I'll try to look up where I've seen this. Perhaps a combined PHP/Perl solution. Would that work?

Or you could get cozy with the Perlmongers list and see if the folks developing the Flash module would care to let you try it out. Chances are if you ask around there you'll find the people developing it.
