    Can anyone give me a clue how to get the variables looking like directories and the page name in the url.

    eg
    www.mysite.com/index.php?cat=drums&color=yellow&size=large&prodname=large_yellow_tomtom

    changed to
    www.mysite.com/index/drums/yellow/large/large_yellow_tomtom.htm

    I don't usually sell large yellow tomtom drums, i'm just using this as an example but any general help on how to get started with this would be appreciated.

    thanks,
    mark.

    You need to have PHP and Apache 2 with AcceptPathInfo turned on for the directory you're using.

    This code snippet is how you would access the variables:

    $var_array = explode("/", $_SERVER[REQUEST_URI]);

    $VARn = $var_array[n];

    Thanks for the post.

    How can you tell if you are running Apache 2?

    Also, how would you turn on the AcceptPathInfo for that directory?
