    I am working a website for someone and they would like to have a feature where someone could put in the make and model of a vehicle and submit and have a quote presented to them.

    I know it will need some sort of database. They would prefer for this to be cgi based.

    Any suggestions of the best way to do this?

    You could do this with PHP and even without a database. I think, any PHP programmer could make such a script easily.

    Problem is I believe their host doesn't offer PHP, but they do have CGI.

    To find out if your host supports php make a page and call it test.php Enter the following code in the page that you make.

    <?
    echo php is working;
    ?>

    if you see php is working and not the tags and echo, you have php running. Most hosts should have this by now. It should be very rare to not unless you are on a windows server and even then they should have php.
