I can't seem to remember what the conditions to get the feed for free were, was it only having $10000+ in sales, or was there something else?

$10,000 in commission during one month, or pay $200 for it.

    Sales, not commission..

$10,000 in sales per day, or pay $250 a month.

Is there a limit as to the number of merchants you can request a datafeed from?

Does CJ monitor your use of the datafeeds, or they just give them to you and you're on your own?

You get ALL of your merchants, or 5 (or less, I suppose, if you want less) of them.

I suppose Compliance may take a peek now & then like they do every site but other than that...you're on your own. To clarify that, they aren't going to come riding in like a knight in shining armor and tell you your code isn't right. I don't know how good Ask a Question is for feed questions (I didn't ask any except to get set up), but Todd's posts here seem to indicate that they expect you to know what to do with the feed (or be able to figure it out) if you get it.

Be warned. When Leader said ALL your merchants, he meant ALL. It is not hard to end up with a feed that is over 1.5 gig in size.

Yes, be warned. I asked for all my merchants and the feed is HUGE!!!

Only go with the whole feed if you know what to do with it and plan to use it. Otherwise, just pick your top five.

How long does it take to download 1.5 gig using broadband? and dsl?

I'm assuming that the file is zipped. Any problems encountered unzipping a file that big?

The file is zipped, but you need to have a MAJOR system to decompress it and use it.

    From CJ Support...

Is there a cost associated with the product feeds?

Yes, the cost for setting up the feed is currently $250. If you are earning over $10,000 dollars in commissions per month this fee may be waived at CJ's discretion.

Commission Junction offers a datafeed compiled of the product catalogs of merchants. If you've signed up for a merchant and they provide a product catalog (product links), their information would be included in a datafeed from CJ if you meet the sales/fee requirements. The datafeed is raw product information that you can use to create links outside of the CJ interface.

    Hope that helps.

You can check it yourself tj. I think any merchants that provide product links in cj will be in the datafeed

yup all these information is availiable as long as you have a cj account. You can even check what products the merchants has in the products links without signing up with the merchants.

I am using a HP pavilion with 512mb of ram a 1200mhz celeron processor and a 40gb hard drive.I too downloaded the 1.5 gb cj database file. Like you said it would not work or unzip. So that night I de-installed the integrated graphics card and drivers and purchased a Nvidia graphics card 64mb for about $80. It then worked! Winzip unzipped it rather easily. Just a note, I did not purchase the Nvidia graphics card to solve the cj datafeed problem. I purchased it to play a video game on the Pavilion called Battlefield 1942, The game would not work, the datafeed unzipped after I installed the new graphics card so I dont know for sure if that was truly related to the unzip problem or not. But I only paid about $400 for the Pavilion so hopefully my base hardware config will help others decide if they want to invest in the cj datafeed. Download time was approximately 5 minutes on a high speed cable line.
HP Pavilion or comparable PC system
1200 mhz Celeron processor or comparable
    512mb memory
    40gb hard drive
64mb Nvidia graphics card or comparable.
High Speed Cable OR DSL access
