For the last 4 or 5 months - I have been checks from my linkshare merchants on a regular basis. I must say it is a nice feature that they added to see when merchants have paid their accounts and to see when checks have been mailed. Yesterday - I got not one but TWO checks from Linkshare. Just thought I'd give them props. And of course give my merchants props too for paying their accounts.

Well, I don't think they should get kudos for doing whats expected of them!

but, i am glad my merchants at share also pay timely.

I got 2 checks yesterday too -- but share said they mailed on Jan 24...I've been waiting awhile! postmarked on Feb 6...something was amiss.

Jada, Welcome to the Linkshare fan club. There aren't many of us which could be a good thing . I have had good luck with Linkshare for well over a year now. They are consistently improving their service and so is my income over there. The consolidated check from other company's is better but with Linkshare each day I'm like a little kid running to the mailbox to see if some more checks came.

Hmmm, I owuld like to know where my Walmart check is though. Has anyone gotten one from them. Walmart says they mailed it in January. <IMG

    Props (pronounced props)

    - to give kudos.
    - to give credit.
    - recognition.

    Used in a sentence.

I'd like to give props to all the people who made it possible for me to be here today. I'd would also like to thank the academy blah blah blah.

How many times will you have to write something like that before YOU change the "h" into an "n"?

How many times, how many hundreds of dollars, until YOU, TOO call it...Linksnare...

    Ahhhh, Leader, Leader, Leader!
I look forward to our linksNare thread meetings. Lmao.

Like I have said before, I don't mind waiting for my money as long as I am going to get it which so far I have from most of the merchants at LinksNare. I have had a few that I tried out and didn't make much from them so I ditched them before meeting the minimum.

Also like I have said before. The most money I have lost since playing the affiliate game is from Commission Junction. Only several hundreds of dollars from a couple of their merchants but thats more than I have lost anywhere else.

Right now IMO and only mine I think CJ sucks at the current time. I think their compliance sucks, their support sucks and their tracking sucks. I use to praise CJ's program. Tonight after several months of trying to figure out the problems, after being frustrated like you can't imagine I've come to a conclusion that they really don't have a clue. This is something I have never said before and I am sure they could care less what I say or how I feel. I will wait and hope that something changes in the near future with them. In the mean time I will continue to replace as many of their merchants as possible.

As for those of you who do good with CJ I am happy for you. I really truely am and I hope it continues to grow for you. Awhile back I use to be too. No longer though.

Let me give a few examples of a couple of changes I made in the last week or 2. Mostly catagories that I receive highly targeted traffic for so conversion should be high.

I added a merchant from Performics for one catagory and removed a couple from CJ and dropped the others down on my page. I added one from Performics after last months results with CJ's merchants. Last month was somthing like 750 clickthroughs and 1 lead. So far since I added the performics merchant I have had 137 clickthroughs, 10 actions and 7 transactions. That comes out to 1 transaction for about every 20 clickthroughs. Compare that with Cj's stats of 1 transaction in 750 clickthroughs. Ok, could be a fluke right.

    Example#2:

I took another catagory that I use to do ok with at cj's with and all of the sudden that also pretty much stopped. Once again Highly targeted traffic. It was converting at 1 in 30 at CJ's for a couple of months and then kept dropping and dropping. So far this year at Cjs the merchants in that catagory are converting at 1 transaction for every 60 clickthroughs. That is when I really started to have my doubts about CJ's tracking. So figuring enough is enough I decided to try a few different merchants for that catagory also. I joined 2 at LinksNare and 1 at reporting.net. The stats for them are as follows. Note the one merchant at Linkshare I have been pushing more than the others.

At linksnare one new merchant I just joined stats so far are 39 clickthroughs and 5 transactions for a conversion rate of about 1 sale every 8 clickthroughs. That one is quite high and I am sure it won't stay like that but remember this REALLY is highly targeted traffic.

The other merchant at Linkshares stats are 514 Clicks and 30 transactions for a conv. rate of 1 sale for every 17 clickthroughs. Total the 2 at Linkshare for a conversion rate of 1 sale in every 15 clickthroughs. Compare that with 1 in 60 at CJ's.

Now for the merchant I joined at Reporting.net in the same catagory I show 35 clickthroughs and 16 items ordered. It doesn't show how many transactions. Not that I can find anyways. So lets say just 3 trasactions in 35 clickthroughs. That comes out to 1 sale in 12 clicks.

Right now I have targeted traffic for 3 catagories. I have changed from CJ merchants to other merchants with awesome results in 2 of them. I am in the process of changing merchants in my third catagory as we speak and I will let you know how that converts.

Now if anyone can explain to me as to why this is happening I would be soooo happy to know. If you still say my tracking is working ok at CJ's then please explain to me as to why I am getting no results at CJ but very good results else where. I have asked CJ and their compliance is working on it. The only problem is that they seem to think it is just one of my merchants but it isn't. It is pretty much all of them in my targeted traffic catagories.

Like I said before, I use to praise CJ up and down. I wish I could believe that their tracking was great. Better yet I wish they would believe me when I tell them it isn't. Talking to them is more frustrating than it is signing in and seeing my stats report. They are closed minded. Todd, I challenge you to look at the stats above and tell me all is ok. Sorry for the rambling but I really am looking for some answers from anyone. If you were me what would you think.

BTW-one of the merchants listed above is one of the same I use at CJ's that doesn't convert there. Funny how it kicks ass some place else. Just my

You KNOW I wouldn't let it pass any more than you would

About those stats, I will say... You HAVE made sure the impressions are tracking correctly, right??

It was my suspicion when I had Snare merchants, that about 1/2 of the impressions did not track, based on my own stats for page views. This, of course, makes it look like they have double the conversion ratio!!!

Although the CR wasn't my problem there Except for Yard-Mart which didn't sell one thing, or John Christian Rings which sold 0, or GreatCoffee that sold 2 things and then died without warning, or AshLaneCoffee that sold nothing, or Hallmark which supposedly got 10 clicks and sold nothing, or Gardener's Supply that sold nothing, etc!!!

But the main thing wrong with Snare always was the lack of CHECKS! About 50-50 on actually getting a check, and of the paying 50%, one said their check was "lost" and was going to try to pull the same crap twice in a row (as in, they were going to say the REPLACEMENT check was lost, too!) but I got a tad "upset" and then it appeared, and I had to threaten suit with another one, letting that one know that New York is NOT too far to drive from MI!

Long live CJ, where the payment happens when it's supposed to and the merchants who leave with a trail of Red Bars are few, and it's obvious within a month whether one's a nonpayer or not (none of this crap with the payments happening months after the pay period ended), and where merchants can't leech off of their affiliates with the "haven't met the minimum" racket!

Just think--you would have got PAID for those Snare merchants you ditched before you met the minimum, if they were at CJ...

    Until next time

    Leader,

quote:
Until next time

Geee, is it next time already???

quote:
About those stats, I will say... You HAVE made sure the impressions are tracking correctly, right??

Clickthrough stats seem to be right online to about where I was last month with CJ. Either way lets say they are off a bit for the sake of arguement . Explain this to me. Why have I in less than half of a month, with just one merchant that I switched to, earned more than I did for all of last month at CJ's with all of CJ's merchants combined? Also keep in mind that I have slipped down in the search engines a bit and traffic is down about 25% for that Catagory. Also keep in mind that the landing pages and links are almost exactly the same. Also 3 different merchants in that one catagory are out performing CJ's stats big time. It doesn't add up. Leader, If these were your stats what would you be thinking. BE HONEST!!!!

I'm not argueing the fact that you have every reason to be hesitant about Linkshare with your past experience with them. I'm also not trying to sell you on Linkshare. This time anyways. All I'm asking is look at the facts with an open mind and explain to me why the big difference even if you have to pretend it is someone other than Linkshare, lol.

quote:
Just think--you would have got PAID for those Snare merchants you ditched before you met the minimum, if they were at CJ

ROTFLMAO!!! I doubt it because they probably wouldn't of tracked the sales.

    Until we meet again Leader.

GameBoy, I got my latest Walmart.com check a coupla weeks ago. Right on time as usual.

Leader admittedly hasn't dealt with Linkshare in over a year, but just can't let it go.

In this day and age, there is as much chance of getting ripped off by established merchants at CJ as there is at Linkshare.

Jimbo, I usually get my checks later than most people for some reason. I'll give it a few more days and drop them an email. Thanks!

As for my other posts. It's not really even about Linkshare. They are what I am using as an example. I also metioned Performics and even Reporting.net. Jeeez I wouldn't of even considered reporting.net a couple of month ago but at Christmas time I tried Satples over there and they tracked good so I figure I'll try a couple at a time there and see how it goes. So far so good.

All I am trying to do is figure out why I have the problems at CJ's. I don't believe it is the merchants fault anymore. It's time for CJ to face up to the fact that they have some problems. I jus want someone to explain to me why can merchants perform good at other places and not at CJ. It doesn't make sense.

Ummmm, I'm still asking for advise as to what may be happening with my tracking woes at CJ. Any takers as to why the big difference between CJ's conversions or lack of and the good conversions at ALL the other places.

Evidently the complaints on slow reports led someone at LS to upgrade that server and bandwidth. They run much faster now.

    Gameboy,

I too am missing TWO Walmart checks. Did you join the Walmart program within the last four months? I joined in October. When my November check did not come two weeks after Linkshare reports it as being mailed I tried contacting Walmart.

    NO RESPONSE.

I then cc's Linkshare with a nasty threat stating that I was going to notify the media that Walmart might be having financial problems. Linkshare responded right away stating that they tried contacting me to obtain my signed W9 for Walmart and that I never responded (Bullsh*t). She gave me a link to the IRS website where I downloaded a blank W9 and faxed it over to Linkshare.

That was three weeks ago. Now the December check is overdue too. Yesterday I tried contacting Walmart again.

    NO RESPONSE.

I cc'd linkshare and was assured that I WOULD be paid and that Walmart is not having financial problems. I will keep you updated to let you know what happens.

If you did not complete a W9 for Walmart, chances are your checks did not get printed either. Doesn't it piss you off that they lie about trying to contact us? What if we never followed-up? Would they keep our commission???

By the way, I am also a big Linkshare fan.

I'm about the biggest Linkshare detractor on the planet.

Linkshare has a FEW good merchants who pay on time most of the time - Walmart is NOT one of them.

The problem with Linkshare is they NEVER do anything to help affiliates in any manner shape or form.

If merchants don't pay they hide it from affiliates.

If affiliates want to contact the merchants they won't give you the name of the merchant contact who is in charge of the program.

If merchants skip without paying, Linkshare doesn't do anything about it.

If I lived closer to than 2,500 miles from New York - me and Guido would pay a call on Mr. Meeser real fast.

It's just a big waste of time and money otherwise.

We are out serious money due to Linkshare's
incompetence and fraud and assorted other screw ups.

It pains me to even have to deal with them but they do have a couple of merchants worth working with. Ditto with BeScrewed.

    Gameboy,

I did some digging through my e-mail. Try contacting tamrah@linkshare.com. She was the one I was dealing with.

    Good luck.

    Further etymology of "props",

    slang term derived from "propers",

    further derived from "proper respect".

    Dear JadaKiss,

Thanks for saying such kind words. We have been working really hard to make sure that the problems of the past never come back again and I am really happy to report that the enhancements that we launched months ago have really helped. Now lets see what we can do to make your lives even easier.

    Dear GameBoy,

Thanks for posting your kind words here as well. As for Walmart have you checked your account area to see when they paid and when we mailed the check. Its a great feature and really helps answer questions like this one.
