Hi
Between December 2001 and the time KBToys deactivated at LS I made $90 commision. When they deactivated, they said in an e-mail to SOME affiliates that they would pay all owed money at the end of March. Now, a cheque for $55 was sent (though I have not received it yet) and the other $35 was put on hold. How can it be on hold - I cannot get over a $50 minimum now. This is a big con (and they are even more of a con now they are at CJ). Anyone else not get paid in Full? I have e-mailed KBToys about this, but last time I e-mailed them I got no response.

What does LS have to say about this "money on hold"?

Does LS send the check or KBToys do? I am trying to figure out where my check is.

LS sends the cheque. I had a reply from KB Toys (e-mailed them through CJ). They have been in contact with LS and both parties agree I am owed $35. KBToys now says it will be processed when LS do next batch.

Glad to hear a few Linkshare/KB Toys affiliates got paid.

I've sent two email to their KB Toys's affiliate manager (re:commissions owing ).

Never received a single reply.

Thanks for keeping my money safe for me KB Toys. Who knows how I would spend it.<IMG src=http://www.abestweb.com/ubb/icons/icon13.gif>

KBtoys and eToys love doing bidness whit the parasites. CJ is their last hop before just going inhouse were they'll never have to make excuses for broken sales tracking codes and their darkside initiatives. Ever see them post anywhere?? Never happen since they sure don't want the spotlight on their practices. I haven't earn more than 50.00 total from 4 years of promoting eToys then the combo group. I just keep them up for lack of alternatives and they know that's the case with most their affiliates.

I agree Mike.

lack of alternatives. Sure there's other toy companies, but they all have nitch, but where else besides Amazon can you buy Barbies.

They'll be a scary merchant if they go inhouse.

Only thing worse than their conversion ratio is the one put up by Disney Stores. Look very soon for the eToys/KBtoys spam announcement that their tired of manipulating the EPC and have launched a new inhouse affiliate tracking system with 100.00 monthly minimum on a $1.00 per new customer reward.

This one reeks like the Dealtime.com (BeFree) newsletter announcing the great 2 tier program launch. That one tricks one into thinking second level income. Reality is this is a ONE MONTH only recruitment deal requiring 10,000 click throughs to earn the whopping sum of 50.00. For those reaching this opportunity level ..you get zip from there on out. Another announced refer-a-friend program that spamms your referral with 5 partner offers.

They called me within 5 minutes of posting an objection to this newsletter as deceptive advertising trying to convience me it was a viable offer. Any takers out there in LaLa land.

Oh Mike, now you just know that I have to come in say you're full of hooey on the KB conversion rates and same for Disney.

Shoot, I've made more than $50 on KB this month and it's only half-over. Both convert right around 1:100 for me (I think Disney is actually better nowadays).

If you can't sell their stuff, just dump 'em. But don't assume that every merchant you fail to sell can't be sold.

Cedrick;
Do you use individual product links? Most all mine is pre-sell text on the various departments with text links, top spot banners in all the Toys -hobby gaming and childrens areas and a search box. I had even setup a animated Christmas and Easter themed page for specials promotions and had mucho traffic to those with no real success.

Ok I checked my KB kids stats.
26 sales in 833 clicks.

I just seemed to have more sales with linkshare. so I guess I can't complain.
But I do wish They 'd step up to the plate and be a bit more honest.

for example we were suppose to be paid out completely when they left LS. This didn't happen. They love Parasites, etc, never return email.

If there was a better altnerative I'd use them. Hmmm maybe I'll look into the disney Store.

No individual product links with KBToys or Disney -- just theme oriented (like "Barbie" or "Madeline").

Who are they involved with parasite-wise? And has anyone here notified them of the parasites?

I can't speak to the LS payment issues -- I got paid.

Canfree, Disney converts for me as well, but it's not really a substitute for KB at all. Jut not enough variation... you know, it's all Disney stuff.

Well I checked both my Linkshare and CJ stats for the last 16 months. 943 clicks resulting in 7 sales ( zero for CJ) for a total commission of 34.00. Since I never was sent this LS check they managed to stiff me for 286,000 impressions and waste my time over 2 years. Can I get the traffic back or those visitors e-mail addresses off their mail list??? Will I feature them in seasonal Mall promotions?

About all they'll get from me til I see conversions is some static space til they get off the parasite bandwagon. eHobbies better work on their tracking program -creatives and conversions or they too will not see 1500 clicks for $18.00 commish like they got from me in the last 4 months.

I was planning to use them on my next site, what's the point in promoting a merchant like that?? Dropped them today..

chinaski, be careful about believing everything you read -- especially when it comes to affiliates complaining about merchants.

If I believed every complaint I've read in this forum, I wouldn't have half of my top-performing merchants.

The management at KBtoys/eToys know how they shafted affiliates over the last 2 years with non reporting of sales ( during bankrupsy period)and non-payment for back commissions.

"eToys owes me $760 from year 2000. I filled out the bankruptcy court claim forms but still not got paid. I have not received a single check fro KB & eToys while they were on LS, I probably made several hundred dollars there...
All it means to me is $1000 business loss and I will deduct that from my taxes this year, but I can't afford to lose another grand this year so I refuse to promote KB/eToys again.."

The above is the reason they went on the scumare darkside since they knew prior performing affiliates would trust them the third time. Prime candidate for a secret shopper test expecially during a toy selling holiday. How I could possibly get no sales recorded during 2 Christmas periods is beyond belief...turn the swtich back on or just migrate to the next level which is a crooked private program. The only reason they are at CJ is to save bucks and get on the Morpheus ShopNow train.
