Haiko,
I think they just joined LS -- they are listed in the "New Merchants" section. Maybe you applied to them on BeFree?

Dear All,

Thank you Haiko for dropping me a mail about this thread, I signed up last week but thought we'd get the migration finished before I started posting..but events have got ahead of me.

Anyway the migration from BeFree to LinkShare is now complete and all the banners, text links, store fronts, some products and Search banners are available, plus we've enabled IPL.

If you have any questions please do feel free to email me at any time, or post here and I'll respond swiftly.

To hit the specific Questions

1. Are we worth the web space :
Our top affiliate earnt $50,000 US + for himself last year, granted he also spent I'd say 30% of that on marketing his own site but that still leaves a good chunk of money in the bank.

2. Is that Chris guy new.... No and Yes. It's a well kept secret (till now) that Mondera was not developed in the USA, it was only moved to the USA when the VCs came in. I was on the original team up until it was moved to the USA around 2 years ago, I have come back to Mondera now because I was very disaapointed in how the Affiliate program was being run, so now I run it.

We will be launching a new Affiliate Zone on the Mondera site soon which I hope will help everyone in developing their affiliate partnership with Mondera.

It is NOT live yet but you can check it out at

Mondera Affiliate Zone

Cheers

I just joined Mondera through linkshare and the acceptance was a 24hr job. Thanks Chris You mentioned enabling IPL. What's that?

Cheers...

Would be nice during the last 4 years to find one jewelry merchant that actually can convert my CyberMall's jewelry store traffic into sales. So far not even ICE.com -Ashford -Service Merchantdise and 12 others have done a thing with thousands of click throughs. You'd best have 45 return day cookies and some bargains that beat local store prices with the triple keystone margins jewelry offers distributors.

Only sales are the one's Overstock records if I showcase some individual deals on 14-18K items.

Hi All,

Okay affiliate zone is pretty much all there, first contest is live, best sellers up, IPL files up... a few FAQs , can't do a lot of the other stuff until the end of the month.

Nick W : My pleasure, we clear all pending affiliates everyday so no one waits unless they sign up on a Friday...Then I'm afraid it's Monday before we can get them live.

The exports for IPLs are now live on the site too, you can grab the text files and that has all the "safe" products listed. I..e those that will not sell out after one or two sales, they update everyday, diamonds updates every 6 hours, as that has a high risk of sell out (1 SKU 1 Product on Diamonds)

johnniebry Sorry that was the minimum recommended by Linkshare, they do all our Cheque cutting, meaning there will be no delays but also that we follow their advice.

Muffin yes as Cedric said VC= Venture Capitalists, the guys with the big money who invest in start ups and growing companies looking for a 3 to 6 year (usually) return on their investment.

EcomCity.com : The best conversion we get is from "theme sites" i.e. those that create sites about jewelry, weddings, dating tips and that kind of thing where the site user is more perceptive to the push that you want to give them in order to get them to click through and then buy. We have one Mall style guy who does pretty well but he does focus more on Silver Jewelry than diamonds.

Best performing links at present are the Search Embedded Banners, Text Links and Coupon Links.

Cheers

I know it was recommended but you can change it if you want. I checked some other jewelry merchants at LinkShare and found:

merlite $20 monthly
fossil $25 monthly
reeds jewelers $25 monthly
limoges $25 monthly
ice.com $25 monthly
jewelry spotlight $50 monthly

More people will sign up and promote Mondera if the threshold was lowered. Just my

Well, we have been promoting a lot of different jewelry merchants. We had sales with all of them EXCEPT with Mondera.com which was on our site for over 1 year with NO sale.
I would say if they don't lower their minimum treshold to $25, don't even bother with them. They're just another merchant trying to get some free traffic.

Hi All,

Just wanted to jump in here to say that LinkShare educates all merchants on "Best Practices" based on our experience and feedback from affiliates. One of our recommendations to merchants, as well as a requirement for the Premium Partner program, is that merchants establish a threshold of $25 or less. Merchants will ultimately set the terms of their own program, but we do work to provide them with the tools and information to ensure that they understand the importance of making sure that their affiliates get paid.

Best,
Sarah

Dear All

Yep my goof, my memory lapsed. I checked through my mail and found indeed that the suggest amount from Linkshare was $25.

I'll check where the $100 came from and then if no one on the Mondera side objects have it lowered to $25. Which I hope should please everyone and also enable

Yikole Hopefully you'll shortly be able to address your concerns with Mondera's program, if I wanted free traffic I'd get a traffic generation program running, I need traffic that converts and that means having good affiliates with solid sites.

Cheers

Chris

Yes, good call Chris. That's encouraging if only because it shows you're taking an active interest in what your affiliates think

Hi All

futuresky and Nick My Pleasure, Affiliate programs are about...the affiliates.. so turning a blind eye and hoping they be quiet and go away is not going to win much loyalty

By the way Nick er du dansk? I lived in in Denmark for around 4 years (10 years ago now), in Ulfborg. My Danish then and now are sadly not up to scratch but my reading is okay

NB Guys don't forget to check out the support site, it's about as up as it will get before the end of the month when I have the meaty info to put up on which links are performing best, best affiliates and more bonus events.

Cheers

Hi mousejockey

Thank you.

We had to change our tracking system a bit as we were a bit concerned about a customer trying to real off the 20 character Link Share code...I was having nightmares about it.

We also have a 30 return day setting as most people when buying high value items need some time to do research across a number of sites before they return for a purchase. This may or may not be long enough but we'll start with 30 and see how it goes

Cheers

Dear All

We have just updated our Direct Product Links with the upload of around 450 products into the LinkShare system. All havce images and text info. If the provided text info is too short, the please feel free to grab more text from the product details page.

This is not our full list of products however we want to list mainly products that will not sell out after a single sale and of which we have good stock level, therefore not cause "sold out" messages from your links to our site.

We allow for custom deep links so feel free to link where ever you like on our site.

Please also note that we post everyday an update of the best Product Links onto our site in the Affiliate Support Zone.

Diamonds list is short as we only list diamonds that can be shipped rapidly in the file, BUT be aware a diamond is unique, once sold it is gone and a customer will get the "Ssold Out" message.

Affiliate who need custom feeds for databases please contact me so we can create them for you.

Cheers

Chris
