Office Depot tracks for me. No problem.

Similar links to OfficeMax, no go. Impressions, Click-Throughs, No sales. I even recently had someone do a purchase, though I was not there watching his every step, and it did NOT track.

Ive seen Mike say they don't track (but he says that about everyone - jk mike) and BluesX say to stay away from them....

If its truly that bad, why do you allow this, Linkshare?

I've purchased thru my own links and OfficeMax did track all of those orders. But I haven't had any other sales ...

I never said the office supply companies didn't track sales. They just take an average of 1200 clicks to report one sale so they are worthless for normal affliates to showcase. Sure you can place individual product links promote better landing pages or take the time to endlessily change out time sensitive promotions to better the poor conversion rates.

The problem is none of the office supply companies AM's have any sales experience and only address their affiliate program as a pure play advertising campaign. Office Depot takes over Computers-4Sure (Dec 2001) , which was my top computer merchant at BeFree from April 2000- til Feb 2001. They move them to Linkshare and unlike TigerDirect or Overstock they have produced squatt in sales for me. Others might promote them ..I pull down all showcase links when 1000 clicks produce one small sale. Their program cannot approach a TigerDirect for conversions till they fire their AM and hire a Andy type.

Good post BluesX on how to overcome some weak performers at LS if they target your audience.

I've only had 1 sale from officemax and just keep them on the bottom of my page for spider food. Office Depot and Staples work nicely for me.

May all your ups and downs be in bed

Stay far from OfficeMax

In general we make in ONE WEEK from office supply merchants more than we made the entire year from OfficeMax.
We did promote them up until now, but I'm considering to drop them.

There offices are right around the corner for me. Turns out they were looking for a new AM manager as well. Never did hear back from them.

That program definitely needs an "andy" in there.

Last month for officemax i had 270 clicks and 12 sales, so 1 sale for 22 clicks. office depot 300 clicks and 30 sales, 1 sale for every 10 clicks. Usually i don't get any sales from officemax but last month did pretty decent.
