    Hi there!

After 2 months and 4 fruitless attempts to build a business relationship with Linkshare we're about to give up (maybe they have too much business?).

If any LinkShare employees are frequenting this board, please provide us with a name and phone number of someone in charge who might actually be interested and able to help us becoming a LinkShare merchant.

    Thanks,
    Scott

Hey Scott - I sent one email and the next day I got a call - I asked them to call me back later in the afternoon, they did. I requested a ProForma based on criteria specific to our business model and 10 references... and had both 2 days later. I then recieved a follow up call every 2 days for 2 weeks while I did my due diligence. - I found them to be very interested and professional. In addition, they have gone above and beyond meeting my expectations with regard to what I was promised I should expect.

I'd be happy to put you in touch with the team I work with.

I know another Merchant who contacted Linkshare and BeFee last year to get an Affiliate Program up and running. Phone Calls, Emails... Nothing.
He is a Manager and busy. 2-3 Attempts that's it.

He was a bit surprised, since he pays the bills (not just small ones) and asked me, what's going on.

To be honest, I was surprised myself.

I always thought, that If a multi-million dollar merchant contacts a network to start an affiliate program, that the sales force would be all over him.

Nope, they must have had a good spring 2002, better than everybody else, since the economy sucked. Who knows.

If a small unknown merchant asks okay, but a successful multi-million dollar bussines?!

Just to mention, he is now with CJ, they responded right away.

I get a 12 hour response to any emails I send and have had telephone conferences upon request with them both prior and after sale.

    Cheers

    Dale:

I'd appreciate if you could email me the contact info of some of your guys at Linkshare. Maybe something can be done through them. My email address is brn@dr.com_NO!SPAM (get rid of the _NO!SPAM when you email me).

    Thanks,
    Scott

    Hi Mike:

I already took the liberty this morning when I got in to work and passed this thread to my rep who responded with this:

...."I have already forwarded this link to one of our Client Development Managers who will respond ASAP"

If you haven't heard from someone before 5pm EST please let me know.

    Thanks for the push ;-).
Worked fine and we're in talks with them now.
Their exclusivity is what bothers us right now, but I guess you can't have it all.

    Thanks again,
    Mike

    You're quite welcome.

As far as exclusivity... most affiliates that I know belong to several programs and will join under just about any aggregator in order to represent a merchant that they want, so I don't think you'll be excluding anyone from participating in that respect.

On the other side - it simplifies your tracking and analytics... and it doesn't necessarily restrict you from working other types of creative marketing relationships

Whatever you decide - the Best of luck
