This is a bit scary but if you run ad-aware it tags all linksynergy cookies with the category "data miner" and marks them for removal. It Does the same with CJ cookies. This effectively nullifies return days on anyone's computer that runs this product or limits the return days to the time between when the program is run.

I wonder if LinkShare could contact them as this is costing Both LinkShare and Us publishers a lot of money.

This should be something Haiko might bring some pressure to the networks and Ad-Aware to cure. ABWers like me advertise Ad-Aware as a necessary tool to our shoppers for removal of BHO parasites.

Ad-aware has a built in auto-update button once you have version 6.x Joseph.

Yeah, I'm asking which version you saw this behaviour. 6.0 then I guess... thanks.

Ad-aware isn't the only program doing this. I saw Spybot doing this as well.

What about Aluria's Spyware Eliminator, does it do the same?

Stange that all the network folks here just refuse to comment on the small effort it would take to protect their reporting cookies. Maybe they are waiting for the Linkshare mailroom Gerbil to graduate from Law School to craft a Cease and Desist order on the parasite removal programs.

It is a very hot topic, among a few others (host files and parasites still not dead!).

    Charlie Mike,

What exactly do you propose, if its such a small effort? I don't see much if anything they could possibly do, unfortunately.
