Tech Depot recently annouced that they are offering a datafeed via the LS merchant program. I took a look at the feed this weekend and saw that they did not use descriptions. That is to say, their descriptions are the same as the item name.
I wrote the affiliate manager about this and asked them if they would consider placing descriptions in their feed similar to the descriptions that they have on their site. Below is their reply....

Seeing that we are in the early stages of providing product data feeds to
our affiliate database via LinkShare's Merchandiser, we would like to see
how our affiliates respond to this initial offering. Once we start getting
feedback, we will review potential ways of improving feed information to our
affiliates. This includes altering the feed in the near future to provide
additional detailed description.
I replied and told them that the initial response would probably be rather poor as the feed provides no value.
I ask that anyone that is interested in using this feed, please email them and let them know your feelings about feeds that are of poor quality.
The person to send the email to is Jennifer-Dorau - firstname.lastname@example.org.
