Todd, will cj be implementing DDeposit for International aff's in the near future.

I do get a little concerned with large checks going through not only the US mail system but our own.
I've had checks lost, returned and arrive opened.
To top it off, we pay (in my case) $10.00 for every check deposited and it takes 30 days to clear if the check is over a certain amount.

Add that to the time it takes a check to arrive and we're looking at around 40-45 days.

    Any chance?

Do you know how expensive it is to wire money from the US to the rest of the world?

    $30+ per Transaction.

CJ is may be willing to do that for you, but you will probably have to pay for it.
However, they may waive it, If your commission check is big enough .

Another option is to open a U.S. bank account. I have had the same problems with checks before...1 was lost and one big check was stolen and encashed.

Good point. That would allow CJ to deposit the money there and you could wire the money to you account outside the US and cover the cost for it.

I don't know how easy it is for a foreigner to open an US checking or savings account, but I got told, that it is possible.

Yes, and its much easier to open a US account rather than wait for CJ to implement int'l wire transfer.

Chase allows foreigners to open US bank account. You just need to complete some documentations. You can also withdraw cash at your local ATMs as long as it is affiliated with Cirrus.

    If they offer direct deposit,
they should send USD without currency conversion.

I need USD, not my local currency.
I have a USD bank account(local) with my local bank.

Currently, i get my checks from PO Box.
Seems better, less chance for postal error or stealing.

CJ might set up the minimum amount for Direct Deposit, say $500 or $1000 or any amount, which is convenient to CJ. Having the option to be paid via Direct Deposit will drive the publishers to chase more earning in order to reach the minimum amount for Direct Deposit and it will end up with more profit for CJ.

I have mail them once regarding the above matter. The reply saying that doing international banking are quite complicated and thus will not be implemented for the time being. Check is the only solution at the mean time.

Thus, I think it is more possible to request CJ doing wire transfer for some publishers with more network earnings. -> Make it a advantages/benefits for those who performing well for CJ!

You can ask CJ to deliver internationally by DHL, but a $70 fee is applied per check. very expensive, but more expensive to have your thounsands dollars lost.

The time takes in not how long your receive the check (the most is only 2 weeks). The time are waste on waiting for the bank to cash the check! (1 month)

    Vrindavan,
Do you mean a local PO box or US PO box?

    local PO box.
letters go to my residential post box have higher chance for postal delivery error

One month is waste for check clearing.
    Yes I agree

    To me,
I want keep the money as USD
    If they send DD,
the money may be force to convert into my local currency. Like withdrawing money from Paypal account.

Then I have to use the converted local money to buy back USD.
I lost too much on the exchange rate.

I like to get it by check.

Check lost is not a problem.
They can stop check and send a replacement for only $20 fee on our side.

$20 is a small amount if you get a big check monthly.

Lets say you got your money in a USD account, how are you going to spend it?! Didn't you use credit cards? The conversion has been done (in statement) autmatically to local currency when you purchase a product in USD!

Credit Card currecy exchange rate are a lot higher then the bank rate.

The only thing good about it is my 'Term Deposit Account' is looking really healthy, because once it's in there I don't want to spend it lol!

The only way around it is to have two or three or four checks cut.
Over here, if it's over US$1K it's at least 30 days, but if it's under it's cash in your hand.

To make my monthly living and r & r income I promote a number of small indie programs and work them to bring in under a US$1000 with a few of these happening a month you can leave the money in your account and save.

Sometimes an indie program will climb over the limit, but usually the indie merchants are happy to break it into a couple of checks, if not,the indie goes into the term too ...and I start looking for other small programs.

Crazy isn't it, enforced savings, probably a good thing for a shopaholic

I need USD instead of local currency
because i save most of income for future.
i do the savings in USD valued items.

    dh

i know some local bank can cash your check with out waiting time. But you may need to talk to the bank manager. Some banks are open for bargain. The more they know you, the better.

Yes, here in Argentina there is a small bank that pays you the check in the moment, charges 2% commission fee and a $5 minimum fee.
Very easy, Big bank charge less for quite big amounts, but have at least a 30 day delay.

Todd, any chance of putting this request forward to the accounting department. Just this month I has a high 4 figure check returned to CJ for no reason. I opted to have the check resent by DHL. Direct deposits are not only safer but they arrive faster. I'd be willing to pay all Direct Deposits fees from my account.

Apparently all the banks I use (in Canada) aren't good enough.

I went back to checks a few months back because direct deposit never worked.

Todd, do you know which banks Canadians can use?
I tried two of our bigest to no avail.

    Game on!!!!

I am not sure which Canadian banks work best. I agree that some are unable to support it for some reason. Use ask a question and see if they have any recommendations.

Any chance of CJ using a stronger adhesive on the envelopes? My envelopes are either coming half open or are they require pretty much no force/effort to open.

    this is my greatest fear!
there was a tv report a few months back that a certain postal officer encashed a SSS check and claimed it as his.. he admitted to the wrongdoing and agree to just pay up the damage.
    he should be jailed!!!!!
    our postal service suck!

cj replied to me a few days before.
They will not do DD for int'l affiliates.

"Even Very Big check + you pay the bank fee" is no exception.

I am sorry to hear that.

Because cj do not have to do anything on their part, just give instruction to the bank where the fund should go.

And i cannot see any security reason not to offer this except the bank charge ( but i already told them i will bear 100% of the charge )

    wly:
Can you "wire transfer" the fund from your US bank account to your local bank ?

Do you need to fill any US tax form because you have a US Bank account ?
