Anyone have any response or feedback to Petcarerx.com? I have noticed the pet medication sites are becoming a "hot" topic lately.

My vet won't give me a heartworm prescription but will match the online price if I take in a print out. Seems some of the vets are also working on a lawsuit against some of the sites selling prescription pet meds.

It has got to be hard promoting prescription meds if the vets won't give out a script.

Yes, that might make it more challenging...but remember there are several non-prescription related medications that can be bought online without a script and also other items, toys and food are added into the mix.

I may be wrong but I thought that online pet prescription sites didn't pay an affiliate fee on prescription products? I thought it was prohibited by law.

Well, I don't see much point in selling if the larger $ items are non-commissionable. Any confirmations on this?

I took this from the 1800petmeds site in their affiliate section.

"Generous 17% payout on all orders!
(due to government regulations, customers who purchase only prescription products are not included in this program. 17% commission applies to all over the counter products)."

Not sure if all online sellers are sticking to these rules but it appears to be the law.

This may be so, which is probably why all new customers (even for scripts) are paid for with a new customer bounty of $12 I belive....

Look at their home page big as life it is MEDS MEDS MEDS

I clicked on non perscrip found Cat feeder a model c-20 MSRP 52.49

    Pet meds 44.99
    Foster & Smith 39.99
    Petfood direct 46.99
    Pets-Warehouse 38.99

They appear to offer about 35 pages of supplies with 10 items per so only a few products to get the 17%, fact is they are using IMO affiliates to sell meds.

I have done quite well with my pet care pages. Pet care products seem to convert very well. I can only assume it's because when someone is online looking for pet care products they're looking to buy! It's not a huge portion of my income but it is very reliable.
I hooked up with 1800PetMeds when I built the pages. I have found them to be a great program and so I've never tried any of the others.
As Mike pointed out they come here and post and they even ask for suggestions.

I want to add that many so called pet "meds" do not require a prescription. Frontline, Advantage and many more do not require a prescript so you are indeed getting a fee for selling those items that are "meds".

    Hi Guys,
Yes, about 90% of our revenue is derived from non-prescription orders. About Prescription Meds - There is a Florida law that prohibits the payment commission, bonus, kickback, or rebate either directly or indirectly, for patients referred to a pharmacy.
    Cheers,
    Alex

PS: Thanks for the kind words

    Alex,

Why doesn't PetMeds move out of Fla, so it can give commissions on prescription drugs?
