Thanks Akiva for taking the time (on the weekend, no less) to chime in with feedback and help.

Between the two of us, I think we have things covered.

FYI everybody - I submitted some request changes based on the release.
    1) Publisher cannot add SIDs to product links. We need to get this feature added.
    2) Advanced search functionality should have a memory and be enable on the session. If a publisher does a search and gets unsatisfactory results there is no option to change the search parameters and search again.
    3) Advanced search - Country. We should put USA, UK and Canada at the top and the rest should be alphabetical. Likewise, Language should have English at the top. These are the paramenters for 95% of the searches.

    Stay tuned folks!

It figures there'd be a message from the sponsor in here somewhere...

    10 minutes of commercials...
    10 minutes of show...
    10 minutes of commercials...
    5 minutes of show...

    ...and so on...

Well, next time you do an upgrade, why don't you at the very least have your good buddy Akiva test it for you before you release it. I'm sure he would have found most of all the problems we have listed.

I mean really, can't you have a few affiliates field test your product (or even your ideas) before you put them in to action? Some of the things to be fixed here were so obvious to us - I discovered several the first few minutes I logged on.

Wonder if the Merchants find this many problems with each upgrade?

How about the abilty to exclude certain merchants from the product search , or search specific advertisers only ?

For my own example, CatalogCity links .
I hope you'll agree that it's not only a waste of the publishers time, but a huge waste of your bandwith to include dozens upon dozens of pages of search results from advertisers that a publisher has no intentions of promoting anyway.

Weeding through these types of links only makes the task of finding links that much longer, and keeps me , and I'm sure many others logged on and using your bandwith much more than is really neccessary.

What do you think ? Good idea ? Bad idea ?

    Edited to say ...

Wait a minute, that would require another huge upgrade , wouldn't it ?

    Forget I asked .

You can search each advertisers product catalog. Go to their detail page and click on product links. Then you can use the keyword search to narrow the results.

Ha ha, sorry, but that's not it, at least not for some searches!!

We want to be able to search ALL advertisers at once, EXCEPT for the ones we don't want!!

For the "specific advertisers only," yeah, that's been there awhile. But not the Big Kahuna: "Search all advertisers except Catalog City!"
