I'm going to disable so i can login. Just thought you would like to know the new Spybot 1.3 is blocking some of your stuff.

No problem, you might want to have someone download the new version 1.3
    http://www.safer-networking.org

I dl it and went to my site and get this when clicking LS links:

Spybot S&D has blocked the download of "Linksynergy"

I get that with BeFree too, not Performics or CJ.

I'm not sure if it had anything to do with having Immunization turned on. I turned all that off and can login now.

    no problems here...

I spoke too soon.... one computer wasok.. onw wasn't...

the imummize thingy... adds Linkshare to the list of blocked websites...

need to click undo and go in and manually unblock Linkshare and befree... and make sure cj and prformics are not blocked...

It's in the Immunize part of it. The middle section.

If i check the box that says:
Enable permanent blocking of bad addresses in Internet Explorer, i have problems.

Unchecked it seems to be ok.

    Trust,

Yes, it is the immunization part of S&D. Been there for a couple of versions now. I think it's attempting to block the cookies. But with that prompt, the tracking cookies are still set. At least on my version.

This new version does detect a lot more stuff. Ran the old version this am and came up clean & then downloaded the new one. It did object to the linkshare, bfast & cj cookies but also found other crap on my system, such as one called CleverIEHooker.

Spybot would be perfect if would ignore our cookies and could reach through the wires and strangle the life out of the bastards who download crap onto our systems.

That would be asking too much of a shareware program, I guess.

    @Wayne: read his license agreement.

It's detected the Network cookies an awful long time now in the scan part. Glad it's picking up more programs though. I'm going to have to install the new version and see if it will help me figure out some of these new apps that have made their way on the test computer (one of which is doing affiliate auto redirects). Also want to see if it's detecting Zango now.

Trust, thank you for posting this. My mystery has now been solved.

For the past several days, the only way I could log into Linkshare was by using Firefox. I couldn't get past the graphic image to log in. Every time I tried, I'd get a wrong password error and could never get past the log in page. I posted this on ABW but it seemed no one else had this problem. I didn't relate that this started after I had downloaded Spybot's latest version onto my computer.

I just disabled the immunization and I'm able to log in again with IE. The only problem I'm having now is that on every single page on Linkshare, I'm getting a popup that says "Spybot-S&D reports that you want to download "LinkSynergy". This is a known threat. Do you want to BLOCK this download?" My next question would be... what exactly is Linkshare downloading to my computer from every page of Linkshare's site that would be considered a "threat"? This popup does NOT come up when I click on my LS affiliate links.

I don't get the "threat" popup when I go to BeFree, CJ or SaS. It only effects LS.

    Hi,

I think it is probably an LS cookie it's detecting. I believe you can go into advanced mode (Menu -> Mode -> Advanced Mode), then click on Settings, then Ignore Products, and check off those items that you don't want SpyBot to find (including LS, CJ, Google Toolbar, Alexa Toolbar, if you use them).
