"Your application to these programs has not been processed. The following merchants have established certain criteria for affiliates applying to their program. Unfortunately, your site does not meet one or more of these criteria. For more specific approval information, please refer to the merchants' application criteria. "

    From "Guidelines for Approval":
We encourage all interested sites to apply to our program. However, before you can participate in our program, we will need to approve your site. Mainly we look for sites that:
    Are aesthetically pleasing
    Are not Travel Agent sites
Relate to travel and are a complement to our products and services
Do not display content that may be deemed pornographic or offensive

So what did the auto-reject kick in on ?

Since none of us would know or could answer this question...this is an issue you should contact Orbitz directly -- don't you think?

    Hello!
S'okay, Crazy knows me from the last program I ran, and knows I hang out here. Crazy, just send me your SID and I'll get you back in. Not sure what happened, I may not have recognized your account or you may have been disabled before I arrived here. No worries, it'll be remedied.

Also, for all you other ABWebbers having issues getting in, please shoot me an email with your SID and I'll take care of it! I'm in the process of wading through hundreds and hundreds of backlogged applications, and getting a strong foundation in place so we can see some real growth here. Want you guys to be able to focus on marketing us rather than defending your commissions...

Hope y'all had a good weekend!

@ Carolyn - thanks, I will do that.

However, the point I was making (FYI) is that I was AUTO rejected with the text at the top of my message - it was instant so I don't think you would ever have been told I tried to join. What that means is that there are some rules set up in there that might not be doing you any favours and turning away people/sites you would be happy to accept if you found out about them.

My best guess is that the program is set up to reject people who live outside USA which is a very sweeping and annoying generalisation for a program to adopt.

I'm also guessing you haven't dug right into how your LinkShare account is setup yet, as your predecessors contact details are still there =

@Survey Man - the clue was in the message title, and the reason it was posted here is because it raises issues of general interest about Orbitz acceptance/rejection policies.

Carolyn did update her contact info. in Linkshare last week. I just checked again and it has been updated.

Orbitz only sells airline tickets for routings originating in the U.S., so I guess it's possible they only allow U.S.-based affiliates.

    Man...all you instant gratification affiliates....

Jasonco, I just cleared out all the outstanding applications today and distinctly remember approving yours. In fact, I sent you a personal email saying thanks.

Thanks for the tip, am adding "check rules" to my task list that is about 17.3 miles long.

    Ciao for now!

Well I didn't make it up - from the "more information" page :
"We look forward to having you on board. Any questions? Email: Blagica (blah-gee-tsa) Stefanovski and Leah Cobarrubias at affiliates@orbitz.com
    "

Yeah that would be logical, like those online retailers that only ship to the US and so think you have to live there to build a website

That is an automated email, that doesn't mean you were auto-rejected. As a merchant when you decline an affiliate, whether is be temporarily or permanently, there are "scripts" assigned within the database to that particular action, and an email will be sent depending on the result of your application.

    Hope this hepled!
