Hello everyone, I'm new here, so go easy on me.

I have a question about affiliate programs.

When a person buys a product from a merchants web site after they linked through your web site, how detailed is the information you receive from the merchant concerning your pending commissions? Do they include the name of the person that purchased or do they just show that you are due a commission?

    thanks in advance, duston

In Linkshare interface, they tell you when, how mcuh, and commission amount.

You can dig a little bit deeper and find out what item has been sold in some cases, but buyer's names? No.

    duston...

on SAS all you get is the price of the product sold...
your commisssion due... and a message that all of the other transaction information...
is available only to the merchant...

Long as we get paid for our efforts... eh?

with commission junction, you get less info than linkshare but reporting is within the hour of a transaction. and payments is one check from CJ monthly - no hassle with minimums from each merchant and multiple checks...

With hundreds at Linkshare, and other networks, more then willing to sell off the customer information ...why not just ask them. Join the IAB or DMA and they pass lists amongst themselves on who bought billions of online products like schoolyard baseball trading cards. Having a buddy in the sex slave business helps lower the list brokering prices.
