I had a parasite pop up over my site. It happened twice today. Basically, when the user leaves the merchant, the parasite entices the customer to come back with a pop-up that does not identify the parasite. If you click through their coupon, they overwrite the orginial affiliate cookie. The merchant targeted was a popular Linkshare merchant. Is it worth reporting these things? Any advice? I'm worried if I report them, they will target me.

Most likely 180Solutions who is a LS hero for hijacking sales by their ethical company operations and sleazeball affiliate partners. Did someone say coupons? We all know that segment of this industry is filled with tricksters.

since some of the parasites are also reading these posts, it is well not to identify them publicly. there is a procedure we use here, calling for a PM to a person or persons that can use the information.

I'm not sure how many are working with that kind of information right now; perhaps they will post something here you can use.

and if it was your computer that showed the popunder, you should check your own computer for anything that could cause that activity.
