I got this a few minutes ago, so I thought I would post it here so others that are affected (and who might not get the email) can see what's going on...

-------------------------

Dear LinkShare Affiliate,

LinkShare experienced a technical issue with posting invoices last month
for payment that has delayed commission check processing for selected
merchants, including program(s) in which you may be participating.
The list is provided to you below. LinkShare reposted invoices, which
resulted in our receiving checks from some merchants that were based on
the earlier incorrect invoices. We have strict payment procedures in
place to ensure that all affiliates are paid in full for the amounts due
to them, and accordingly we can not process payments until we are fully
reconciled against correct invoices.

We are working diligently to get this resolved, and assure you that
affiliate payments are most definitely a priority. We apologize for the
delay in processing checks for October.

Best,
The LinkShare Team

Translation:

Because we just sent out the invoices for October, you're going to get your checks really late this time.

But... the good news is linkshare is working hard... and
as quickly as possible... to give us consolidated checks
and direct deposit.... should happen any day now...

And don’t worry about this little set back....that has...
“delayed commission check processing for selected merchants...”

After all... linkshare just promised us that...
“affiliate payments are most definitely a priority...”

Hey, I believe them... after all... they’ve never let us down
before.... have they...?

The only thing that I can add is...
Never doubt anybody's word for anything... but... Always double check everything... - Grandpa

October? What about September? LinkShare just posted in my payments report that they mailed my September check for Target on 12/8. Good grief! I guess it will be February before I see that October check.

Fellow publishers.

Without question we need to build something new that offers the publishers a fair shot at the brass ring.

How hard can it be to build a network of sites that carry the Merchants product and brand.. and do correct tracking?

Merchants I have spoken with do not have a problem paying the publisher they just enjoy the network traffic. They are paying good money to LS and the other networks only very little of what they pay trickles down to the publisher.

Sites are providing a real service and should be paid.. my opinion:

1. a setup fee for incretions
2. a monthly fee
3. performance fee

The tracking Company like LS a setup fee, and a monthly fee similar to a hosting fee.

The present structure is benefit to the Merchant and middle man, but the one delivering the traffic, the publisher, gets very little in portion to what they bring to the table. The structure should be equal and it is not.

Myself? I am thinking of only placing Merchants that I have a direct relationship, and if they use LS or one of the other network it will be just fine if they alter the pay structure, which I have found they can.. if you ask.

Fewer Merchants on a site can be a benefit to the Merchant that is placed, and to the website (less clutter)..

Anyway I am just throwing out some morning thoughts that have been on my mind the past year.

Happy Holidays

Ummm, Sierra Trading Post is not on that list and it is one that LS is at fault for delaying. Make me wonder if LS really knows what what is going on.

I got that letter last night. I knew something was up when I saw my Oct. commissions for some merchants listed in the month of November. I figure this will take around 3 months to figure out.
