REI is closing the REI Linkshare Affiliate Program on 1/11/05. Please remove all Linkshare REI.com and REI-OUTLET.com links. All links will be inactive on 1/11/05. We appreciate your cooperation.

Now the real question is.... are they going completely out of affilaite marketing? Or out of dealing with us peons?

Let's see how they handle relationships with all the parasites. Maybe, Just maybe their going to track with their own software the big guys in the business...

    OR

Maybe they don't want to be involved with any type of litigation that may be coming down the pike.

Time and a little investigation will find the truth...

    Look for it sometime soon.

Poop on REI for laying inbed with parasites all these years.

I just got an email from them. They're giving us 1 day to take down our links, how thoughtful.

I should have known something was up when I emailed them several months ago several times for information on coupons and datafeeds without a response. I've actually never received any information from REI's affiliate channel. No big loss here.

Any word as to whether they plan on paying out all their owed commissions?

I would not hold my breath Joey, If they think one day is enough warning to remove all their links and replace with another merchants that should show they don't give a sh*t about their affiliates.
One day parasites and their ilk will be made illegal, I bet a few Lawyers will be pissed off when the day comes.

How funny, just when REI closes their program I make a sale. I never make sales for them. Anyway, they said they'd pay out all the commissions even if you didn't meet the threshold. Let's hope they make due on this.

They said in an email about a month or 2 ago, they were going to do this. They're going to pay any outstanding commissions. Probably just moving elsewhere.

Yes, their email said they will pay all outstanding commissions regardless of the minimum payment amount.

If any of you are looking to replace some of those links with another merchant's similar product offering, we're a great option!

Let me know if I can help out with anything.
