In the release this weekend, you will be able to dynamically generate link codes with SID values inserted.

I've called up a few product links and do not see this feature anywhere. Nor did I see it in the FAQ about the update.

Has this feature been added and, if so, how do access it?

Once you have clicked on the Get html link for a particular merchants banner, there is another link on the next screen called Show Advanced Options (which is stupid they made us take another step). Anyway, click on it and you will see a box where you can enter a SID of your choosing.

The functionality is only available for links other than products. We will add the functionality to product links shortly (this week, I hope).

Oh, one other question. Will my current, self-created and inserted, SIDS continue to work or should I replace the links?

Current use of SIDs will not be affected. There is no need to change anything. We just added a feature so you can add the SID without hand coding it.

    Todd,

This is by far one of the better improvements to CJ I have seen. Great Job.

Now, can you make it so we don't have to make a second click to add the SID. Can the SID box be available on the initial screen and then just not enter anything if a person does not use it? That would really be great!

    Thanks!

I've got to agree with 7-Days, this is a really good improvement.

And I'm someone who is generally critical of CJ...

Can someone please tell me what SIDS are for?

SID stands for Shopper ID or Sub ID. You can use it to track the earnings for sub sites or members or your site or the performance of the same ad across multiple pages.

You can look it up by clicking on help in the members area.

    Vamp,

It's a very rare disease that attacks you cookie dough and most commonly found in Santa Barbara.

Hmm, not that feature I think of.

I thought it is the 'randomly generate a subdoamin' link feature use to avoid host blocking that Todd mention some time ago.

This is an interesting feature. I don't think it would apply to my sites as of yet, but it might be something to consider for the future. As I understand it, from reading all of the information at CJ, this is merely a new optional box, and not something that needs to be filled in for the link to track properly....correct?

    Optional, yes. Required, no.

    Lisa,

Maybe going to the account manager and calling up a product link would answer this question.
