No Pete, you win. We all know its what you BANK not what your EPC rates are.

I just want to get some comparison EPC's for this forum's affiliates.

    Anyone else?

Predictable, really I suppose. It was an act of purest optomism to have posed the question in the first place. (John Cleese: Cheese Shop)

I dont really care what my EPC is, I mean what is the use of a $40 EPC if you are only getting 50 clicks a month? I would much rather have a $2 EPC and have 200,000 clicks a month.

    Hi Tough bird,

The only thing of it is this... if somebody could tell you how to get that up to 2 times it's current amount, you would be making a whole bunch more money!

Personally, I do not care about the EPC either, except that it is a good stat that, if improved, means more to the bottom line (assuming the same number of click thrus).

I can describe my CJ EPC and all other CJ stats quite simply:

EPC is a worthless stat in my opinion. My EPC is close to what Tough Turkeys is, and I made 50,000 dollars last year. I can make a business model site that gets a 30 plus epc, but the models that make the most money for me, are the ones that individual consumers click on a great deal of my links driving down the epc. The quality of traffic is everybit as good as my high epc sites. My low EPC sites just make a lot more money. EPC stinks. Reversal %'s on the other hand.... grrrrrr.. Don't get me started on CJ taking that statistic rate away.... I have a merchant that has almost doubled the reversal rate since CJ's downgrade. Going from bad to horrid.. 45% to about 75% of my sales getting yanked. CJ are you listening?

I believe the only thing EPC will tell you (provided its statistically valid: size of sample / time) is the quality of the traffic you're sending to the merchant.

The more motivated your traffic, the higher the conversion rates, and (if you also happen to be selling high commision products) the higher your EPC.

But, what counts the most is WHAT YOU BANK! ... not your EPC.

I don't push any "lead" merchants to drive up an EPC. But seeing 5.28/2.18 makes me think I'm still able to pick the losers! If it wasn't for underwear and JC Whitney I'd be out of bird seed. Maybe I should hawk men's undies out of my truck at the local gut-granade joints. I'm ready to decoupage my bonsai collection because I can't afford the water and liquid fertilizer.

I'm with Turkey & Cub, EPC doesn't mean much. I'm making more money with my lowest epc site than I am with any of the others.

EPC's value is in comparing merchants.

EPC's also is a good measure for your site. It means nothing to compare it to other people's sites, but, like I said, if you can figure out ways to increase it, while maintaining your traffic, then you get more cash.

A simple statement, like, "company XYZ is the best for abc reason" put on every page might take your EPC 10 dollar site and turn it into a EPC 15 dollar site. Or, simply changing the color scheme.
