So while you are too busy to fix the host file issue. You are not to busy to send out emails for publishers breaking the COC?

I posted the same question earlier and got a reply. Its a bloody whitewash, again a total disregarding by CJ of the COC violition aspect of the affilliates in question.

I am writing to ask you why the hell you are sending these emails out when you know full well the affiliate concerned are in violition of the COC?

Have you sunk that bloody low now that you cannot even contemplate getting rid of a parasite?

How is it you can close down some ordinary parasite free CJ members for merely having links to porn whereas these scumbags promote the filthy stuff and you still allow them to be an affiliate?

    Your double standards stink.

Publisher XYZ changed their program description. Please review the new program description. If this description is unsatisfactory you may end your relationship with the publisher through the account manager or by contacting client services.

    New description:

XYZ donates a percentage of its gross revenue to world class charities such as x, x, x, x.We do this through the following advertising mediums: (i) our web site located at www.xxxxx.com; (ii) emails sent to users who sign up to receive offers from our site(iii) plug-in software distributed via AskEarth.com, which assists our users so that a transaction qualifies for a donation automatically.

    Hello Gordon,

Commission Junction requires that all publishers who have a incentivized or special program disclose this to any advertiser when they apply to their program. Advertisers are not capable of accepting such a publisher into their program unless they have reviewed their account and authorize special approval acknowledging the nature of the publishers business model. The email that was sent is a warning to the advertiser when a publisher whom is already joined with the advertiser becomes an incentive or special program, it is not a suggestion or promotion on the publishers behalf. The publisher immediately gets taken out of joined status and into a pending status. This again forces the advertiser to re-evaluate their affiliation with this publisher. I apologize for the misunderstanding. I hope this clears things up a bit. Please feel free to contact me with any further questions or concerns.

    Best Regards!
    Diana

    Gordon,

No offense to you at all and I understand your anger, but putting more of the FACTS in and taking some of the emotion out - I think will get us much further when trying to communicate with CJ.

I don't think Diana realized the issue here is NOT that they are an incentive site. I DO think it is a REALLY strong move on CJs part that they warn merchants about incent sites so we are alerted to carefully review them.

But the entire point of this thread and the one I started in the Parasite forum was missed when you sent this complaint into CJ.

THE POINT IS - they are using a software plug-in and the software is doing driveby downloads thereby forcing itself on users without their knowledge or consent. The software is also enticing cosumers to click THEIR link with the promise that a % of proceeds will go to charities, which based on what we have discovered about these companies is most likely a lie and false advertising.

Some CJ merchants have turned them in and I'm sure they will be dealt with. CJ is aware of the "team" research that we did in the Parasite thread. All of the merchants who are aware of the issue have expired them from our programs. Affiliates and merchants are spreading the word to other AMs too.

As for Irv's, they had only made 2 sales so I was glad I caught them before this went much further. I commend Haiko, Ms B and the other ABW team members who again worked together to investigate and stop more unethical dupers in their tracks.

Thank you Catalyst and no offence taken, I like to be corrected or I will go through the rest of my life just as stupid as I am now.
After re-reading my post I understand what you mean. I will send her another explaining in more detail.

You just have to admire CJ for their way of manipulating things. It stinks for us, of course, but these folks at CJ are real pros at this by now.

It's simple for most of us. Where a program's failed or ceased to perform, we've lots of us begun taking our traffic and redirecting it more profitably. No warnings, no prisoners lol.
