Has anyone gone and looked at google groups lately and looked up qksrv?

    http://groups.google.com/groups?sour...=UTF-8&q=qksrv

There are over 7100 complaint there about affiliates that spam and when I click on many of the links (with affiliate Id's) the account is still working!

    Amazing.

CJ, you need to do the Police routine better!

    'Free again, Free Again."

Today is a national day of parasite free shopping.

Thats a problem with all networks from affiliates who spam. Norton doesn't like CJ, AOL doesn't like BeFree links. When doing a newsletter CJ, Performics, and Linkshare links go throught but if you have a BeFree link, it gets blocked.

Just put http://www.qksrv.net in your browser and click. CJ already has it figured out that people accessing this site want to complain about spam.

"Commission Junction, the registered owner of the qksrv.net domain, does not send commercial email to consumers and has a strict "anti-spam" policy. It is possible that a customer of Commission Junction has sent the email you received and because the links in the email are served by Commission Junction, you were able to trace the email to us. Again, please be aware that we do not tolerate spam in any form at Commission Junction and doing so is a violation of the customer's agreement with us*. Accordingly, if a customer of Commission Junction has violated the customer's service agreement with Commission Junction by sending unsolicited commercial email (a.k.a. "spam"), then Commission Junction shall initiate an appropriate response to that customer, including a request that your email address be removed from all of the Commission Junction customer's mailing lists. If you have not done so already, please forward the original spam email to cjspamcomplaint@custhelp.com."

CJ is kind enough to request that "customer" to remove your e-mail address from their list.

May be Norton wants to send a msg like "if you allow spam we will ban you" to punish spam generation main incentive that has been atributed to Money (commissions) in a recent research posted also in ABW.

In that case they should ban just individual merchants, and not a chap solution as banning an entire network.

So while legal forces do almost nothing to stop spam (they should target the spam friendly companies saying "oh, we, MortgageViagra&Enlargement co, bought lead generation services without knowing the origin, sorry") market is launching its own war...

Seems like CJ, LS and BF and the other networks could just use the Google spam board and others to track down and terminate the perps.

Looks like there are some affiliatefuel entries in there that are still live as well.

PeePee merchants with PooPoo policies allow our earnings to be flushed down the crapper.

Why give parasites unlimited cookie durations and credit for sales where they divert our users and overwrite our cookies. PP merchants directly support what many consider unfair trade practices and thievery!

CJ is about to receive justice for spurning the normal affiliate in favor of parasites who steal from the real workers and achievers.

Mr.Merchant, if you do business in any way what-so-ever with parasites, your products will not be sold on my sites!!

Yeah but...we have had plenty of time to adjust our focus. Anyone who did not see CJ was going down after Nov 7 just wasn't paying attention.

Look it's like this. The affiliates are the ones with the real power. We drive the traffic and make the sales. We choose the networks and we choose the merchants that will prosper. Get enough of us ticked off long enough and kiss the network goodby. CJ can't survive on parasites. They produce nothing and drive no traffic.

I have watched CJ make blunder after blunder. I think Norton is the last straw. Now, it is just a matter of watching the show.

If you are late, there is still time to shore up your defenses and get some links up that are free from parasites and ad blockers. Otherwise, just sit there and listen to the big sucking sound of your money going down the drain. My money has trippled since summer began. Has yours?

You're forgetting one key piece SSanf - they don't need to as long as merchants are stupid enough to pay commissions to the parasites, as well as a bounty and monthly fees to CJ for the honor to get sales from people going directly to the merchants site.

I'll willing to bet that much more money is obtained by CJ via parasitic sales occuring on the merchants own site via bookmarks, direct type-ins and emails from merchants themselves rather than by visitors going through the affiliate channel - why else would CJ show such a preference to parasites?

CJ can survive on parasites as long as they string along affiliates and merchants and make them think they are the place to do business with. Go look at that thread where the merchant was asking for help in a decision between befree and cj. Take a look and see how many knowledgable folks here at abw still recommend CJ without blinking.

This is what has to change here before CJ will ever begin to be in any trouble! Affiliates should not keep recommending a pro parasite network who even has the audasity to feature the ebates success story on the affiliate login page.

I don't believe that most of the merchants are able to drive so much traffic and sales to their site that they and cj.com can survive. If they could they would not need affiliates with the knowledge how to...

Exactly. They join a network affiliate program because they CAN't get traffic on their own.

You can fool some of the people some of the time. But, eventually even THEY wise up. It has taken a long time because CJ WAS good at one time. They have had a long free ride on the good reputation of what was once a wonderful company before it was sold.

LISTEN you guys. CJ don't give no whistles no more!

Carneol..... I'm pretty sure you're wrong!

Tiger directs affiliate sales are well documented at around 1.8 million a month. According to you, the affiliate sales are more than their own email campaigns and direct visits to their site? Go take a look and see what tiger did in business last year. I believe I saw somewhere that the affiliate sales for tiger were miniscule to overall sales and thats why they could trash the dsatafeed marketing without blinking an eye. You can ask Andy and other merchants around here and I'll bet they confirm. I'd say we primarily send them new customers but they keep them and make repeat sales on them long after our little cookie is expired. How? By catalogs and emails that they continually follow up with.

    Are you kidding me?

As long as we have a steady stream of kids turning 18 getting credit cards and more and more people putting pcs in their homes and starting to use the internet - never! New customers will always be coming in and the population is not decreasing.

A more accurate search would be of the news.admin.net-abuse.sightings group with this query, which shows 1290 reports, but not much activity for the past month.

Do a similar search for bfast and there are 534 reports, which is what you'd probably expect given the comparative sizes of the networks.

So.. what we're saying is that some affiliates spam with qksrv and bfast links. Well, that's hardly a shock. It doesn't mean that CJ (or Befree) are responsible for this, so I really can't see why you're blaming CJ. I mean, with thousands of affiliates over several years, its not suprising that there's some spam.

I *do* hope they all get terminated though.

Incidentally, AltaVista is a good way of tracking these spammers back to their home sites.

Do a search in AV for www.qksrv.net/click-*AID* where *AID* is the six or seven digit AID in the spam, e.g. link:www.qksrv.net/click-1234567 and you should be able to track them down to their home sites.

Hey, I just found one spammer who's an ODP listed affiliate site. Not any more!

Well, I guess we'll find out. At this rate, all CJ will have left to send to merchants is traffic they would have gotten anyway for free because producing affiliates are going to be leaving them high and dry.

And, all but the greenest merchants are going to be unwilling to pay for that traffic.

Who wants to make pages that won't show images or links for a big section of the viewers or for merchants who allow cookies to be overwritten? Personally, I have better things to do like read ABW and play solitair.

I believe that the REAL reason why they wish to block these links is not because of spam reports, or spam itself. It's simply because a large number of the POP UPS that are encountered serve ads with these links.

Is some enity diluting the branding value of the "powered by CJ" message? Unlike the lame CoC whitewash campaign, putting a muzzle on consumers demanding a halt to the gorrilla marketing practices of the Ad Whores cannot be swept under the carpet.

reading all of this with much disdain, it makes me wonder why more affiliates arent diversifying.

for example, a couple of years ago, when i started to anticipate problems with cj, i started coming up with my own products and services to sell directly... just in case.

i also stopped relying so heavily on them. i didnt see the need to keep overpromoting cj.

i also wonder if it is just so quick and simple to do these datafeed sites that it isnt starting to be because of laziness (not used as an insult), i mean, you see it is easy to do a datafeed site, so the amount earned vs the amount of time spent to earn it is ,in your opinion, still worth it.
