Anyone out here who can explain to me how the Google index is updated everytime? Yesterday morning my site was listed #10 on my main keyword (lord of the rings) on www3.google.com

Then shortly it took over that index on www.google.com Now the old index is back with the www3.google.com listing being the same as the old www.google.com listing and now its the www2.google.com that has me on place number 10....confusing, I would think so.

Anyone with Google-experience who can explain to me what index is the final one....

Google usually juggles around between the main site www2 & www3 for a few days before deciding which index suits your opposition best.

I hear that. Crazy thing is the old index also has the old heading and description. I hope they don't keep that as well, it's months old.

Which other Google look-a-likes should I submit to as well?

I get a few hits from www.alltheweb.com too, but they're pretty small compared to Google.

Lycos says it uses their technology (tech from FastWeb, as I recall), so you may be able to show up there as well.

Check to see if you're in there before submitting. Chances are, you are. Your Ranking may be another matter, lol...

They really are "fast", btw--I've had new stuff get in there in less than 2 weeks. Their spider comes by a lot more often than any of the others, too.

They don't send too many hits now, but if they can snag more partnerships like the one with Lycos that may change quite a bit.
