When will the banner exchange thing happen?

-------------------

Anyone feel like doing a looping top sites list with me?

(Note: I just made the "looping" bit up, wadaya call it... ye end up in a top sites loop going from one site to another??)

Certain sites of ill repute use it, i wanna try it!!

Ok, so reciprocal links can help boost google listings.. but does the text on the reciprocal link make any difference? (does this make any sense?)

Heyder,

I am also #1 on yahoo and google also for registering domains (diff words). And got there with just the domain name as the link, but that could also because my highly effective nomenclature.

And www.keyword.com has a heading of 'key word', description 'Key Word Blah Blah', etc.. is this the idea?

clicknasty,

Yep! and also included in the page in the descriptive, I actually repeat the keyword (domain) a few times in the page within the text. (ie. Read the EBAY rules Check out the Ebay sponsors etc .. you get the point)

I like text links but do not use banner links. why would you? A page can use just a few banner links, they are slow to load and do get clicked nearly as much as text links. Banner links bite.

To WebSearchEngines.net:

For Google, the text in the link to your site means a great deal. It means a great deal more than the content of your site or of the site linking to you.

You can do a few simple experiments to prove this to yourself.

1. Create a link on one of your pages using a nonsense keyword like "jklghasdhg".
2. On another page, use the word "jklghasdhg" (or whatever nonsense word you used), but then link to a different page using "test" in the link text.
3. On both pages, that you link to... don't use the nonsense word anywhere.

Now sit back and wait for Google. The page you link to using the nonsense word will rank #1. The other page will rank #2.

How many links can you include on a page before you get labelled a spammer.. is there any limit?

I think jim's right that keywords in domain mean more than text links in google.

For example, i am top in google for 'direct financing' simply because of my name - direct-financing.com.......and i only have 23 incoming links.
