Which is the better of the two to use on a shopping directory page?
    <META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT="">
    Or
Listing the individual keywords within the tag?
    Thanks

Not sure I understand the question.

I use quite a few meta tags including title, description, keywords etc.

    I use:
META NAME="description" CONTENT="ohh ohh shop here"
    Meta Name="keywords" Content="clothing, crystal,art, etc"

    Does it make any difference?

    META NAME="keywords" CONTENT="stuff,stuff"
    META NAME="description" CONTENT="stuff"

I would assume there is a difference in using
    META NAME="KEYWORDS" CONTENT=""
and letting your content be your keywords

    Versus

    Meta Name="keywords" Content=clothing, crystal,art etc
and listing a lot of keywords.

I just wanted to know which was the best one to use.

OK, I didn't understand the question.
I'd say do EVERYTHING! Give the meta-crawlers their tags, give google it's links, set your first page text to h2, run the pages thru an optimizer.. etc

It's best to fill in your keyword meta tag. It is more important to fill in your description meta tag because: (1) I think the search algorithms give it more weight because there is less spamming of keywords in the descriptions, and (2) the description is what your visitors will see in many search engines for a description. But note well that search engines such as Google don't use meta tag data at all. For these search engines (or for all of them for that matter), make sure you put some keyword-rich copy near the very top of the page body and sprinkle keywords throughout your image ALT tags, link text, headers, and body.

Personally I don't use either, instead I make my first 2 paragraphs keyword rich, works for me. The exception is if I use PT for ink.

If you do use meta tags though make sure the keywords are also in your body text.
