What in sam's hell is up with yahoo. I just noticed that their index and search results seem to be fluctuating on various days and times. One minute my terms come up in the top 3 and the next several hours or days later their not even on the first or second page. It keeps fluctuating - I wonder what is up with that. My site's traffic went from 200 to 38. However, some sites are being pulled from page 2 up to page 1 in the top 3 which is good but seesshhh I don't really like the fluctuating search result thang. Anyone else experiencing this with their yahoo listings?

I've had the same roller coaster experience. On Wednesday I was showing as #1 for my dream keyword, and a couple of others besides. I even got a letter of congratulations for my "stellar results" from a SEO specialist who had come across me on another board and looked up my site. But today the best I'm showing is #10.

I just submitted to Yahoo a couple of weeks ago tomorrow, and appeared for the first time last week (I bit the bullet for paid inclusion - no choice with a site like BuckWorks). I'm hoping I was in soon enough for the benefits to show up in the next Google index. We'll see...

They probably found that people were getting reeaal p*ssed if they paid for inclusion and ended up stuck at #4,971...

But if they get enough flack from people who dropped in the rankings, maybe they'll change how they do things again.

Say, Elisabeth, what was that #1 slot worth in terms of traffic, anyway?

But Leader - These are paid inclusions that I am referring to. Several of my sites are listed in yahoo via paid inclusion $299. That's why I'm so pissed. I lost top 1-3 ranking positions that went from 1 to like 36. Those rankings were giving me like 200-275 uniques a day. Now it's down to like 38. I have some sites that I have recently just been promoting through "yahoo only". These are the sites that are hurting the most now.

But I think yahoo is doing this on a rotational basis. At least I hope. Maybe next week my sites will be back to where they were. I've developed a report so that I can keep track of certain keywords and ranking positions. I'll keep you posted.

Now I really can't wait till google day.
