As I am writing now , gogle bots are deep crawling all my 4 sites. Could this be a good sign that my dropped one site will get its backward links?.

I see that Googlebot's been by at least one of mine (haven't checked the others yet), but only a few pages were crawled so far. Not exactly what I'd call a "deep" crawl...

after a crawl, how long will it take for the new data to get "re-indexed"?

I suppose I should try and beat the googlebot on the reindex and try and get rid of as many direct circular links as I can just incase that theory has some merit.

so, what does all this mean? I have noticed google 1,2,&3 still shifting. I also that none of the data related to my inbound links is appearing. My page rank is still zero. before the update, my page rank was a 5.

Does this "crawl" mean another update soon? or, are we looking at the endo of the month? If another update doesnt take place until the end of the month, then I am screwed for the month. Of course, I could get screwed next month, too.

I noticed Google hasn't "danced" alot in and out of the new index like usual...

Seems like when the new index hit ... It stuck ...

Well on 2 of them its back to zero -- the third site that was shunned managed to keep a 2 and has went up in the index a bit.

Nothing to sing about

I'm coming out of denial and accepting this cruddy new index....boo hoo.....

Nope. Its not through doing its dance. example; in www.google.com they bring back 87 pages, before it was 81, and the last number was 95 pages. In www2 my site comes back as having 95 pages. In www3 my site comes back as having what I had before this index - 81.

The one thing they all have in common is that none of the data for my inbound links returns in a search, and according to my listing in their directory I have no page rank. My page rank for my index.html was "5", the rest of my site had a "4", before this last update. I am still keeping my fingers crossed, you do the same. It aint over until its over - lol!

also, I would strongly encourage sending google a slew of complaints, anonomously (sp?), of course (I would hate to see someone get black listed because of their opinions).

it aint over yet baby!

1 of my sites has all its links back + its picked up about 15 links from other sites

showtime!

my other site is still an outcast though

there seems to be some confusion about google crawling sites

google does not crawl ALL sites on the same day - that would be impossible
whilst coolcows site may be being crawled it doesnt mean YOURS is being crawled

typically google spiders one of my sites at the beggining of the month and the other at the end of the month

Hmmm. I keep losing pages. 2 that were there before burried deep in Googleland aren't even in it anymore.

One of the pages was top listings for most of the related keywords last month. I still have only 2 decent ones left. I hope they leave them alone.

the general consensus on one of the other forums is that many of us (MANY OF US) are having this problem with the inbound links. If there is not an update soon (re-indexing) I am confident that next month will have us straightened out. I know I am not "banned", due to the fact that my site is still listed in the Google directory.

From what I understand from the other forum, is that those whose site does not appear at all, e.g. expedia.com, might have something to worry about. They are completely out. if you are coming back - type this, -111111111 site:yoursite.com in the google search form exactly the way it appears, except you should replace the domain - then you should be ok. in other words if the results bring back the pages google has in its index, then you have not been banned. and some are saying now, the inbound link problem is definitely on Google, and does not mean you have been "penalized" (at least not intentionally). keep them fingers crossed!

Hi all, just checking in. I just did my analizing reports for keywords - being that I was too disgusted with the whole thing to do it the other day. Now that I've calmed down - I see that the majority of my sites STILL SHOW 0 LINKS - mainly my newer sites are the ones still showing links to them. Of course I've lost all major first page listings that I've had for a great deal of my sites and lost one major #1 listing that I've held for several months now.

However, I am assuming that this will all be rectified when my sites get their LINK RATINGS back.

Hopefully with the love of PPC's and yahoo, I'll be okay until next months update. But it's still a paycut.

Ya, well, our server decided to fry itself this morning while Googlebot was spidering. Six hours offline while it was being replaced (not a bad ISP reaction for a Sunday).

Guess we've got a Big Black Mark on our foreheads for the next index.

Thought it was too good to last.

Dang - sorry to hear that CodeJockey - definately know what that is like. All of my sites went down in October and I had lost everything with that google update.

But maybe it'll visit your sites again before next months indext. I am finding that google is spidering my sites very often because I see changes appearing that I make midway through. Plus my new sites are being added fairly quickly before the new index even comes out.

So don't give up hope.

I've just taken a look at my stats for December and WOW!! has Google delved deep.

I have only had Google 2 on my sites this month though whereas before I used to have Googles 1, 2 and 3, does anybody know how to get numbers 1 and 3?

I must be doing something different but I do not know what.
Thanks if anyone can help on this.

If you're talking about Googlebot spider numbers, they don't mean anything. All spidering is apportioned by a central crawler.
